Between dialogue and trust: way Ombudsmen strengthen the corporate culture

A field meeting of the Council of Ombudsmen of portfolio companies of Samruk-Kazyna JSC was held in Almaty oblast. Aliya Erseitova, Ombudsman of AlES JSC, took part in the event, representing the interests of the company’s employees and supporting the values of open dialogue and social responsibility.

Participants visited Samruk-Energy JSC’s subsidiaries: Moynak HPP – the most important hydro production plant in the region; Alatau ZharykKompanasy JSC (AZK) – the leading operator of electricity distribution networks in South Kazakhstan; and KEGOC’s Almaty MES, which is responsible for backbone transmission of electricity.

The Ombudsmen were introduced to the key stages of power generation and transmission, held working meetings with personnel, and discussed important issues of internal corporate climate, safety and labor conditions.

Apart from production meetings, the Ombudsmen took part in the Forum on internal communications and procurement activities organized for the portfolio companies of Samruk-Kazyna Fund.

Current topics were raised at the forum including:

– professional behavior and corporate culture in work teams;
– transparency and ethics of procurement processes;
– support of domestic producers within the framework of state priorities.

The role of the ombudsman as a link between employees and management, as well as a tool for conflict prevention and strengthening mutual understanding in companies was highlighted in particular.

AlES’ participation in such events emphasizes the company’s commitment to the values of transparency, sustainable development and care for its employees. Aliya Erseitova, representative of AlES, noted the high level of organization and openness of colleagues from Moynak HPP and AZhK JSC.

– Such offsite meetings are important not only for sharing experience, but also for strengthening a common culture of responsibility and respect throughout the Samruk-Kazyna Group. We all strive to create an environment where every employee feels heard and protected’, – she emphasized.

AlES JSC will continue to participate in the work of the Council of Ombudsmen, contributing to the formation of a human-oriented and ethical corporate environment.
