When everything operates flawlessly

The story of Dulat Ilyasov, a fifth-grade turner at the PRP Energoremont fitting and mechanical workshop

“I don’t like to boast. I prefer to let my results speak for me. When a component is manufactured exactly as required. When everything works without a hitch and when you approach the machine and realize that everything is in perfect order. That is what gives me professional satisfaction.”

These are the words that Dulat Ilyasov uses to begin his story. He has been working as a turner in the fitting and mechanical workshop at PRP Energoremont for about four years. The profession suits him well – it requires concentration, accuracy, and the ability to think several steps ahead. This is what attracted him to the energy sector: the opportunity not only to work with his hands, but to be part of a technological system on which the stability of an entire region depends.

“As a child, I was interested in anything that could be taken apart and put back together,” he recalls. “I tinkered with watches, bicycles, and household appliances. I was always attracted to the logic, precision, and results of technology.

His path to the power industry was a naturally logical continuation of these interests. He chose the profession of turner – a serious one that requires concentration and attention to detail.

“The power industry is not standing still. New technologies, digital solutions, and automation are emerging. But the essence remains the same: everything must be reliable, safe, and accurate. Not only the operation of the equipment depends on this, but also the safety of people,” he emphasizes.

Dulat remembers his first day at work in detail: the scale of production, multi-ton units, and the focused atmosphere. He immediately understood that everything here was real, and that mistakes could be costly. It was then that his inner journey toward professionalism began.

“It’s important for me to know that I’ve done everything right without fuss, without exaggeration, but accurately. In my profession, I value order, calmness, and attentiveness. And I always remember: safety is a priority.”

Dulat is a man of few words, but he is a reliable member of the team. In any situation, he acts calmly and deliberately. His colleagues respect him for his restraint, accuracy, and responsibility. He speaks gratefully about the team:

“There are strong people here. They are true professionals in their field. When I first arrived, they helped me and gave me advice. Now I try to be the same for others.

He does not consider his profession to be easy, but he sees meaning in it. He values stability, the opportunity for professional growth, and participation in the process of technical renewal. In his free time, he prefers to read, walk in nature, and engage in physical training and everything without unnecessary haste. The main thing, as he himself says, is to do your job conscientiously and maintain inner balance.

“There is fatigue and overload,” he admits. “But if you believe in what you are doing and understand why, then you keep going. Calmly. At your own pace. And that’s the most important thing.”
