The children showed their creative talent

Under the enthusiastic applause of children, Almaty power engineers created a module of the power plant in the Edelweiss holiday camp. And although the station was assembled from children’s toys, cardboard boxes, real wires and parts, plastic windmills and palm trees, the event was at the height in all senses.

Firstly, Edelweiss is located at an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level. And secondly, when the lights on the station module lit up, the kids were delighted – for a hundred points! But the main thing was that at the same time, most of the children who wanted to know how this industry works were also genuinely interested in the energy sector.

A small model of the station, showing ingenuity and undeniable creative talent, was made by employees of CHPP-3. They are all participants of the School Ambassadors Programme for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities, which was launched at AlES JSC in 2018. Representatives of all departments of the company participate in this programme, trying to show maximum ingenuity.

Bauyrzhan Ali, electrical fitter for repair of the Shop of thermal automation and measurements, and Ruslan Ayupov, electrician of the Relay Protection and Automation ES, demonstrated the work of the station to the children on a model of the station assembled by them. The demonstration in Edelweiss of how light is created was fascinating for the School Ambassadors themselves, and what to say about the children, who were absolutely delighted with the experiment. In addition, energy is one of the most fascinating areas of physics and has a huge application. The things that make up our everyday life always attract a lot of attention, especially if they are told in an accessible way.

Of course, a lot of things can be found on the Internet today principles, schemes, diagrams and videos to see how a spark occurs, how current runs along wires, lighting thousands and thousands of light bulbs, starting equipment. But such visualisation in real life, on the layout, is much more entertaining for children, says Elmira Turumbetova, metrological engineer at CHPP-3. The children could observe the process of launching the “station”, ask questions, look at everything in detail.

The real process is more impressive than any, even the most perfect online broadcast. We are glad that we were able to ignite a spark of sincere interest in children. Surely some of them are already thinking about their future profession.

The demonstration of how a power plant works was just one of the items in the large programme prepared by the Aisulu Irzhanova, Chief Specialist of the Department of Industrial Safety and Labour Protection, and Nauryzbek Kuzenov, Chief Specialist of Industrial Safety of the Central Industrial Safety Department, explained the important topic of safety to the children by answering their questions. They told them about the rules of the road, spoke about road signs, which ones are responsible for what, and how to cross the road correctly and safely. The children were delighted and had a lot of positive emotions after the quiz game “Logical Questions”.

After the informative information, quiz and dance games, we treated the children to punch prepared by the employees of CHPP-3,” continues Elmira Turumbetova, the organiser of the programme. And then we organised an entertaining foam show. Emotions and joy of the children cannot be conveyed in words. It was a programme-fire, and we were all charged with positivity!

And in general, the School Ambassadors say, they had only positive emotions and impressions from the camp.

We were surprised that the children were so active,” says Anel Saduakas, engineer for calculations and regimes in the Regimes and Adjustment Group. We were equally surprised by their counsellors young, energetic and talented kids. We saw that a counsellor at Edelweiss is not just a teacher’s assistant or a person who entertains children. A counsellor is a friend who can always help and to whom you can tell everything. This is a person from whom they will take an example.

Camp “Edelweiss” is perfect for children who are looking for an active and fun holiday, continues Zhakan Nurlan electrician Relay Protection and Automation ES. One of the most memorable events in this camp for us was also a foam party. This is not just entertainment, but a full-fledged show, which, we hope, left a vivid impression on the children.

And in order to keep the impressions in their memories for a long time, the power engineers presented their young charges with headphones. They will not only remind them of informative, fun and musical recreation, but will also serve schoolchildren when they want to listen to their favourite song, repeat new foreign words, or watch an informative programme on the Internet. For example, about energy, reinforcing an interesting summer lesson from “Edelweiss”.

– Thanks to the power engineers for the event! The children enjoyed everything, especially the foam party, says Adim Abdrashitov, a counselor of the 6th Barbariki team. – Thank you especially for showing them how the CHPP works. Very much liked and how fascinatingly in the fresh air was told about safety rules.

And the main evaluation of “School Ambassadors” was given by the holidaymakers themselves. Aisultan Moldabekov from the 5th detachment rated the programme as excellent, summing up the enthusiasm of the children: “I liked it very much, it was fun and interesting!”

… The children continue to rest, and the School Ambassadors are preparing for new meetings.
