Sports competition dedicated to the 90 th anniversary of CHPP-1: the energy of sport and unity
From 30 September to 2 October 2025, the sports courts of CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev hosted the Sports Day dedicated to the 90 th anniversary of the station. The sports festival brought together teams from all production departments of AlES JSC.
The three days of competition became a real celebration of team spirit, healthy competition and corporate unity. Despite the autumn weather, the venues were buzzing with excitement, and the participants delighted the audience with beautiful, fair play.
30 September was the day of football and women’s volleyball.
The first day gave the spectators vivid emotions and confident victories. In the women’s volleyball battles, the gold medal was won by the CHPP-1 team, PRP Eneroremont got the silver medal, and the bronze one went to the Kapshagai HPP. The games were dynamic, with the volleyball players demonstrating excellent technique and attitude.
“The competitions were of a high standard and left a lot of positive emotions. I was particularly pleased with the fair play and friendly atmosphere between the teams. This is my third year participating, and I always enjoy the games immensely,” said Molder Zhampozova, an engineer at PTO ZTC.
Bagizat Umerbayeva, technician at URVKO-2 and captain of the women’s team at PRP Eneroremont, also shared her impressions: “The tournament was wonderful! It was interesting to meet colleagues from other departments on the volleyball court. The participants supported each other, which proves that the employees of our company AlES are friendly and athletic!”
“It was not just an event, but a great celebration of energy, team spirit and healthy competition. Our team participated in women’s volleyball and had a lot of positive emotions,” said Akpeil Myrzagaliqyzy, head of the logistics department at Kapshagai HPP and captain of the team.
In the football tournament, the CHPP-1 energy workers were unrivalled, becoming the champions. Second place went to the Head Office team, and third place to the CPVT.
“The football competition, timed to coincide with the 90 th anniversary of CHPP-1, brought a lot of positive emotions. The weather was excellent – a perfect day for sports! The teams from CHPP-1, the Head Office and the Central Power Plant put on a good show, scoring several spectacular goals. It is especially valuable that such events provide an opportunity to take a break from the daily grind, socialize with colleagues from other departments and feel a spirit of unity. The participants’ faces showed joy, excitement and pride in their teams. Such meetings strengthen corporate culture and promote friendship within the team. 1 October – men’s volleyball.
On the second day, the men took to the volleyball courts. A real sporting intrigue unfolded.
The CHPP-3 team celebrated the victory, with PRP Eneroremont taking second place and ZTC the third. Every match was played with complete dedication, and the stands enthusiastically supported their colleagues.
2 October – basketball and sadaq atu.
The final day has presented new records. Despite the cold weather and rain, the basketball competition was held at a high level.
First place was won by the Head Office team, silver went to CHPP-1, and bronze went to the combined team of Kapshagai and Cascade HPP.
“It felt like a real sporting celebration, where everyone cheered each other on. These competitions were a great incentive for further training,” said Samat Sultanov, equipment repair mechanic and captain of the PRP Eneroremont team.
Zhandos Turebekov, deputy head of the boiler shop at CHPP-1, participated in volleyball and basketball:
“I wish there were more events like this – they bring people together and inspire them. Sport really unites people,” continued Zhandos.
The participants in the archery tournament distinguished themselves with their shooting accuracy.
First place went to Kenzhegali Asarov, engineer for the organisation, operation and repair of buildings at the Cascade HPP, second place went to Bauyrzhan Bekturov, chief specialist at the Central Technical Administration of CHPP-1, and third place went to Kerm Dzhambayev, head of the Central Technical Administration workshop at CHPP-1.
“We express our gratitude to the organizers for the excitement!” said Bauyrzhan, who took second place in the archery competition dedicated to the station’s anniversary. He demonstrated accuracy, composure and true sportsmanship, becoming a shining example of how professionalism and the desire to win are reflected not only in work, but also in sporting achievements.
The Sports Games became not just a series of competitions, but a symbol of the unity of the large AlES energy family.
Alikhan Yerlan, an engineer with the CHPP-1 Repair Service, noted: “Sport strengthens health and team spirit, and most importantly, it brings people together. Seeing employees from different production departments supporting each other is the best reward for the organizers.”
You can immediately feel it when the team from the production departments trains together at home, on the station premises. The result of constant team training leads to victory! It would be great if all production departments had their own sports grounds.
First of all, it promotes a healthy lifestyle. Secondly, it allows for the creation of a permanent production department team. Thirdly, regular team training guarantees prize places at the AlES and Samruk Sports Games.
