Riding on the wave of digitization
AlES employees talked about the technical seminar on ‘Yenisei’ system at Ust-Kamenogorsk HPP
Vibration diagnostics system is like a stethoscope for a machine. It hears even slight ‘sighs’ of the turbine, catches deviations invisible to the eye and informs: ‘Listen carefully here’. This approach is not just a trend, but a necessity: hydropower is getting smarter, and reliability and safety are becoming inseparable from digital technologies.
– We have not seen just the installation. We were able to see the brain of the system – from the sensors to the screen, where everything is displayed in real time. It is working. It’s impressive, said Alibek Tastanbekov, director of Kapshagai HPP named after Sh.Chokin.
Representatives of the company ‘Rakurs’ (St. Petersburg) did not just explain – they showed the work of ‘Yenisei’. The architecture of ‘Yenisei’, its integration with ACS and SCADA, flexible settings, cases from other objects – all this aroused keen interest.
Particular attention of the participants was attracted by the modular structure and the way the system visualizes data – without complexity, but extremely informative.
– It is nice to see how the interface works not only on the screen, but also in real life – at the engineer’s workplace. This is not a simulation, it is the life of the equipment in numbers, said Nuridilla Matiyev, Head of the Automation, Measurement and Communication Unit of the Cascade of HPP.
The theory was followed by practice. The participants were guided through the key facilities: the dam, single-phase transformers, control room. Everywhere – ‘Yenisei’, integrated and alive.
– No theory can replace a live sight. We saw the system in action, discussed it with colleagues, and it gave us a lot of ideas for our work, said Andrei Ivanov, head of the Electrical Laboratory at Kapshagai HPP named after Sh.Chokin.
The seminar was not just a presentation of technology, but a platform for professional dialogue. Engineers, managers, IT specialists and power engineers spoke the same language – the language of accuracy, reliability and love for business.
– When technology starts to be heard, people begin to understand each other even better, said one of the participants with a smile.
The participants were of one mind: such meetings are necessary, because it is not just an exchange of knowledge, it is the growth of the entire industry.
