RETURN ON INVESTMENT
On April 23, Almaty hosted a public hearing of Almaty Power Plants JSC
In accordance with the Law “On Electric Power Industry”, Almaty Power Plants JSC (AlES JSC) held public hearings on the report on the implementation of the agreement on investment obligations with the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2012. The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, independent experts, consumers and other interested parties.
Chairman of the Management Board of AlES JSC Nurlan Mukhamed-Rakhimov told the audience about the implementation of the investment program, work with consumers and prospects for further activities. The proceeds from the tariff increase were fully used to modernize energy equipment, maintain production levels, and take environmental measures. All this made it possible to increase electricity generation and reduce the number of emergency shutdowns of the units.
Currently, water intakes are also being built in the CHP, which will reduce the cost of water supply services. Work continues on converting CHP-1 to gas, clearing the downstream channel at Kapchagai HPP and others.
This year, according to Nurlan Mukhammad-Rakhimov, the planned activities are aimed at increasing production volumes and reducing costs. The construction of ash dumps and other environmental measures will also continue.
After the report of the Chairman of the Management Board, experts and consumers present at the public hearings asked their questions. In particular, they discussed the possibility of increasing the volume of electricity generation, redistributing production to power plants depending on the average annual flow rate of the Bolshaya Almatinka and Or and much more.
In general, the discussion was constructive. Concluding the public hearings, Nurlan Mukhamed-Rakhimov thanked those present for their activity, saying that all comments and recommendations would be taken into account.
