Minions go on a trip to the departments of AlES JSC

In February 2025, AlES JSC launched an annual environmental initiative – an action to collect used batteries “Discharge!” In the new year, the company’s environmentalists decided to strengthen the project not only with technical solutions, but also with a creative approach: unusual assistants will appear in production departments – container minions.

The idea to use the image of popular yellow heroes did not come about by chance. Minions have long become a symbol of energy, activity, positive attitude and easy attitude to difficult tasks. Their recognizable design made it possible to transform an ordinary container into a vivid visual element that attracts attention and reminds of the importance of ecological culture.

The containers are made in the corporate style of the characters: durable, safe, bright, visible from afar – they are designed to collect used batteries, which are hazardous waste and require special disposal.

Each such “eco-hero” performs several important tasks at once:

– increases engagement – it is difficult to pass by a bright character and not use the container even in a busy production space;
– makes the waste collection process natural and familiar – the visual form reduces formality, but retains meaning;
– supports the idea of the state program “Taza Kazakhstan” – step by step promotes responsible waste management and respect for nature.

In the coming days, a whole team of minion containers will travel to the production departments of AlES JSC. Each unit will have its own character – a small, noticeable and very useful assistant, reminding you of the need to properly dispose of batteries.

Saltanat Zhanakhmetova, Chief Manager of the Environmental Protection Department of AlES JSC emphasizes the practical significance of the initiative: “Placing minions-containers on the territory of production departments will allow employees to conveniently and safely hand over used batteries right at the workplace. After filling, the containers will be handed over to a specialized organization for further environmentally friendly processing.”

The action “Taza Kazakhstan” once again shows: environmental responsibility does not begin with large projects, but with small actions – a discarded battery handed over to the right container. Thanks to the active participation of employees, AlES JSC reduces the impact on the environment, strengthens the environmental culture within the team and contributes to the preservation of the nature of our country.
