Healthy spirit of energy workers – reliable energy

Nearly three hundred athletes from eight production departments and the head office of AlES JSC took part in the annual Spartakiade of the Company. It is held to form a unified team of AlES for participation in the Samruk-Energy JSC qualifying competition stage.

The competitions were held in ten sports, both international and national. Thus, along with football, volleyball, chess, table tennis, arm wrestling and cyber sports, power engineers competed in togyzkumalak, asyk atu and arkan tartu.

According to the results of the sports decade team prize-winning places were distributed as follows: first place – CHPP-2 n.a. A.Zhakutov, second place was won by athletes of CHPP-3 and the third step of the podium was taken by the team of CHPP-1 n.a. B.Orazbayev.

– This year, the scope of the Spartakiada was expanded. The sports competitions were distributed by time and venue so that the distraction of personnel during the games would not affect the stability of production processes, emphasises Nazira Kadyrkulova, Trade Union Committee of Energoremont, who herself took part in the chess and volleyball competitions. – Lunches were organised for the athletes at catering facilities in the territory of the games. The main games were held for three days in the sports complex of KazNU named after Al-Farabi. Before the Spartakiade the Trade Union Council decided to allocate funds for the purchase of sports equipment and uniforms, as well as for the rental of halls for training. As a result, this year’s games were characterised by a renewed composition of teams and excellent preparation. I would like to note that such events not only bring variety to the working atmosphere, energise the team for months to come, but also unite the team into one big friendly family.

Nazira Kadyrkulova also noted a good level of training for departments with small numbers. These included the Western Heat Complex, HPP of Cascade and Central Office. Despite the small number of their teams, they won two gold medals each.

The games were solemnly closed. This year, the prize money and certificates of honour were awarded immediately after the games, when the sporting excitement had not yet cooled down and the emotions from the feeling of victory were especially strong.

Of course, special excitement and delight caused competitions in national sports. For many people, such as, for example, Daulet Suyundikov, a foreman of the production section of the Shop of Thermal Automation and Measurements of CHPP-3, these games have been favourite since childhood. And he is sure that they are not as simple as they seem at first glance.

– Togyzkumalak is an intellectual, very interesting game that requires deep thinking. It promotes the development of mathematical thinking and intelligence. I learnt it on the threshold of school, said Daulet. – That is why I took part in the AlES Spartakiade in the game togyzkumalak. Its inclusion in our Spartakiade increases my colleagues’ interest in the game every year and contributes to the growth of the number of participants in the competition.

Aitkul Aibol, the winner of this sport, also agrees with him:

– I decided to take part in the competition as soon as I found out that togyzkumalak was included in the programme. This game interested me as a child. I am sure of its great benefit for children. It not only develops mental and physical abilities, but also instils interest in the heritage of the people, strengthens the pride of the younger generation for the traditions and culture of our country. That is why I am very grateful to the organisers of the tournament. I enjoyed watching my colleagues, cheering and rejoicing at the victories of my friends. And now I have a desire to train harder and reach new heights in future competitions.

Dina Abdigazitkyzy, a process engineer at the Workshop for Setting up and Environmental Protection Activities of the CHPP-1 n.a. B.Orazbayev, also took part in the togyzkumalak competition. She defended the honour of the team and in volleyball. And came out the prize-winner of competitions, having taken in both kinds of sports the honourable third place.

– It was an unforgettable event filled with the spirit of sports competition and friendship, Dina said. – I am glad that I took part in this celebration of sport and I am sure that such competitions inspire new achievements.

For Fariza Botakaraeva, a leading software engineer at PRC Energoremont, this national game not only brought back memories of her childhood, but also broadened the level of her participation in the competition. Previously, Fariza was only a member of the volleyball team, but now she also competes in togyzkumalak.

– In recent years, it has become difficult to get into the national team of our production department, let alone the national team of JSC AlES. You have to prepare in advance, be in physical shape, and have a desire to win, she admits. – As a true fan of sports games, I could not not participate in the Spartakiade. Last year our team of JSC AlES won the third place among the companies of JSC Samruk-Energy. Now I decided to participate in several sports: togyzkumalak, volleyball and arm wrestling. I played togyzkumalak at school. Repeatedly was the champion of the city among my peers. I have loved everything about maths and logic since childhood. And togyzkumalak is a game of logic and wit to develop logical thinking and stamina. I also organised volleyball and basketball training. Our men took first place in volleyball and second place in basketball. I think this is a good result! And we, girls – volleyball players, won all in our group, but at the end of the Spartakiada took only the fourth place. In general, we realised that we need to constantly train together with the team, to have team spirit and team chemistry.

“Such sporting events serve to maintain a healthy lifestyle and form friendly relations in the team, says Bikensulu Mamrayeva, Chief Specialist of the Department of Works and Services, not very upset about the loss of her volleyball team. – I have taken part in the Spartakiade for the fourth year in a row. Now seven volleyball teams took part in it. I will remember the tournament for the friendliness and camaraderie of the participants. Our team was able to show a good game, losing with a small margin. But what a thrilling, exciting and collective game it was!”

Oyuna Dashiyeva, a leading engineer on automation and metrology of the Electrical Laboratory of Kapshagayskaya HPP named after Sh.Chokin, also had good impressions from the sports day. Probably because their volleyball team took second place, losing only to girls from CHPP-3.

– Now there is something to aspire to! – says Oyuna optimistically. – We will train harder and look forward to the next Spartakiada. Such events unite the team and increase team spirit.

High sports passions and emotions were boiling on the basketball courts. Daniyar Batyrov, Head of the High Voltage Equipment Repair Shop, took part in the basketball team of Energoremont for the first time. He was fond of basketball in his school years more than 20 years ago. And now he decided to repeat those days. As it turned out, successfully.

– Two weeks before the Spartakiade, we started our training sessions, said Daniyar. – Our team was able to achieve chemistry thanks to understanding each other, cohesion, which was formed in the conditions of training sessions. We took 2nd place, only in the final, losing to the team of CHP-2 named after A.Zhakutov. I think it is a good result for me. From the AlES Spartakiade we got a lot of pleasure, a lot of positivity, good impressions. Huge thanks to the AlES Trade Union, the team and everyone who supported us!

Table tennis tournaments also found their spectators. As Sabina Imayeva, Chief Specialist of the Capital Construction Department of CHPP-2 n.a. A.Zhakutov, modestly said about herself, she has been playing tennis since school. But at work she took a long look at the players, fearing that her level of play was much lower.

– I decided to play a few years ago and now I play and compete, she says. – Last year I fell a little short – I took second place in the competition, so this year I set myself up to win only. And here is the result – 1st place among women. Of course, the mood is important for the victory, but nobody cancelled the training. Table tennis for me is a charge of energy, an outburst of emotions and just a good mood.

And Altynai Baubaeva, an engineer for estimates at the Capital Construction Department of CHPP-2 n.a. Zhakutov A., took part in a sport that is not the most typical for girls – arm wrestling. She started practising armwrestling in 2015.

– Armwrestling came into my life a year after I got a job at CHPP-2 n.a. A.Zhakutov, she said. – Then I was offered a trip to Astana for the Spartakiade. It was very interesting that such organisations hold games between employees, and it was important for me to perform for AlES. And 8 years later I was lucky enough to try myself in this sport again. Armwrestling is a sport of technique and sharpness, my colleagues told me, and trained me in every possible way. And it was important for me not to let the team down and bring gold to CHPP-2!

In general, the feedback from the Spartakiada is only positive. “Football was – at the highest level, – said Zhandos Turebekov, senior machinist of CHPP-2 named after A.Zhakutov. – I wish all sportsmen sporting spirit and success. And thank you – for the competition at the highest level”.

“The Spartakiade was really exciting, there were many unexpected results, said Kanat Azimkhanov, Leading Engineer Programmer of the Electric Shop of CHPP-3. – Thanks to the efforts of the organisers and the strength of the competition participants, it was possible to create a real celebration of sport and a healthy lifestyle”.

– Emotions were unforgettable, says Aidos Zhakashev, an engineer of the Production and Technical Department of Kapshagayskaya HPP named after Sh.Chokin. – This holiday of sports gave a lot of bright impressions, opened new names and showed the level of development of our athletes. I am very glad that I was able to get into the national team of JSC AlES and will defend the honour of our company in future competitions.

Azamat Shokanov, an engineer on operation and repair of buildings and hydrostructures of the Shop of operation of buildings and hydrostructures of Kapshagay HPP named after Sh.Chokin, joined the team of AlES JSC.

– Last year the Company’s team achieved high results, taking the first place in basketball at the competitions of Samruk-Energy JSC. This year we expect even better results! – he conveyed the spirit of the whole AlES team.

And we will all keep our fingers crossed for the victory of the AlES team. The last Spartakiade showed it worthily.
