Green Nauryz: employees of Zapadniy Thermal Complex are greening the territory

As part of the celebration of Nauryz – the holiday of spring renewal and unity with nature – employees of the Zapadniy Thermal Complex (ZTC) presented their native land a very special gift: 30 young trees. Poplars, karagachs, cherries and uruk, planted by a friendly team, became not only a symbol of care for the environment, but also a living legacy for future generations.

Nauryz, which symbolizes the harmony of human beings and nature, has inspired the ZTC staff to do a good deed. ‘To plant a tree means to leaving a trace that will please even our grandchildren, said Murat Tusupov, director of the complex, who took part in the event. Along with him, employees of the electrical engineering shop, chemical service and others took shovels in their hands. Laboratory technicians Yulia Bayanova and Irina Hasanova said: “We work with technology every day, but today it is especially enjoyable to do something alive and real”.

The 10 poplar and 10 Karagach trees planted on the territory of ZTC have already started their quiet labor:

– fighting for clean air: the giant trees absorb dust and harmful emissions, releasing oxygen. This is a genuine “green shield” for the city.
– shade and coolness: the Karagach tree, known for its spreading crown, will create shady alleys by summer, where employees can relax during their lunch breaks.
– dream fruit garden: 5 cherry trees and 5 uruk trees will produce sweet fruit in a few years. “Can you imagine how these trees will blossom in the spring? And then we’ll harvest them with the whole team!” – smiles dreamily Dias Zhienkulov, an electrician for electrical equipment maintenance at ZTC.

The campaign was part of ZTC’s strategy to reduce its ecological footprint. “Greening is not a one-off event, but a philosophy. We are learning to balance production and care for the environment”, emphasized Ilyas Kenesbayuly, ZTC’s head of facilities.

Employees who participated in the planting confess that such labor brings them closer together. “When you plant a tree, you feel that you are making the world a better place. And even though our saplings are small now, they will grow stronger together with our team”, the participants say.

The spring festival is leaving, but the trees remain – as a reminder that even in an industrial green zone it is possible to create an oasis of life. “This project is our contribution to the future. We hope that in years to come ZTC employees will be proud of the fact that they work in a place where nature is appreciated”, summarized the director.

While the saplings are reaching for the sun, the Zapadnyi Thermal Complex continues to prove that progress and ecology can go hand in hand. And Nauryznama-2025 for ZTC will forever remain not just a holiday, but a year when a new green history grew here.
