Did you participate in the Taza Kazakhstan programme?

AlES employees shared their feedback on the first stage of the environmental challenge

Within the framework of the nationwide programme “Taza Kazakhstan” 15 employees of JSC “AlES” took part in the environmental challenge organised by JSC “Samruk-Kazyna”. The first stage of the Challenge, held from 4 to 13 July, ended on Saturday and aroused great interest among young specialists of the company.

During the first week, participants performed tasks from the list, introducing one new environmental habit every day. Young employees of JSC AlES shared their impressions of the first stage of the Challenge:

Day 1: Organising your workspace

Yembergenova Akerke, Chief Specialist, Personnel Sector, Western Heat Complex:

“I was very happy when I learnt about the Challenge “Taza Kazakhstan” and got acquainted with the Regulations of the Challenge. After all, I am also an advocate of keeping clean. My mum always told me that cleanliness begins with a person, with his environment. Therefore, the conditions of the first day of the Challenge “Organisation of workspace” did not even surprise me and did not make it difficult. I buy special organisers for the workplace, so that there was no clutter and visual noise, so that nothing distracts from work. I’d love to capture a photo and video report and post it on instagram. I have some ideas on how to turn this into a habit. Thank you very much to the organisers of this challenge.

Day 2: Garbage – separate!

Tleukhan Aizada, Chief Specialist, Personnel Training Division:

“The ecochallenge, which aims to inspire active young people, to draw society’s attention to the issues of environmental conservation and waste sorting, has started. I really liked the task of the second day. I set up two boxes in my office from improvised materials so that we could separate the rubbish into plastic and waste paper. I am very glad that my colleagues supported my idea and joined this action. I am sure that in order to change the world, one must start with oneself”.

Day 3: Disposal

Gulnaz Merembay, Metrology Engineer, Automation, Measurement and Communication Shop, HPP of Cascade:

“For the first time I saw the instruction of the head of state on the environmental action “Taza Kazakstan” in Tik-Tok, and immediately ideas appeared how to organise the action in our production department. Having received a letter from the Samruk-Kazyna Foundation about the start of the Challenge, I registered without a second thought. The third day of the Challenge was dedicated to “Utilisation”. I tested the Sparklo fandom machine. I collected all the bottles from the office and took them to the nearest point. For each plastic container I received 10 ecobonuses, which can be exchanged for discounts and coupons from partners or for gigabytes of internet. I think that fandomats have a great future. It’s a great opportunity not to pollute nature by collecting plastic. I think that fandomats will become popular among the residents of our city. We will take care of nature and do our best to make the environment clean”.

Day 4: Plastic – Free Day

Zhanerke Panarkhankyzy, Production Preparation Engineer, Production and Technical Department, PRP Energoremont:

“Samruk-Kazyna’s EcoChallenge energises you for positive changes! The fourth day was dedicated to giving up plastic, and I was proud to participate by donating plastic bottles to a special plastic recycling machine. It was great to see how a simple habit can effectively contribute to reducing pollution. I have been using shoppers and glass bottle in my daily life for a long time now, which helps to avoid unnecessary use of plastic bags and bottles. Days like this, remind us how important our daily decisions and actions are to keep our nature beautiful and clean. Many thanks to the organisers for such an important and inspiring challenge!”

Day 5: Koliksiz kun

Dina Abdimazhit, Process Engineer, Adjustment and Environmental Protection Shop of CHPP-1 n.a. B.Orazbayev:

“Every morning I go to work by public transport. It is pleasant and convenient, as I live on Abaya Street, where there is a bus lane, which allows me to avoid traffic jams and get to work on time. Using public transport is not only convenient but also environmentally friendly. It helps to improve air quality and reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. My choice in favour of the bus helps to make our city cleaner”.

Day 6: Social Media Detox Day

Adil Abildayev, engineer of the Instrumentation and Control of Electrotechnical Laboratory of the CHPP- n.a.1 B.Orazbayev

“I did not start the morning of the sixth day of the challenge as usual, stuck in the phone for 20-30 minutes. And he started it by completing the challenge task – digital detox. On the way to work, I did not listen to music with headphones, but enjoyed the morning singing of birds, the rustle of leaves, the sounds of people around me, which gave me inner peace. After analyzing my activity on the phone, I realized that I spend a lot of time on social networks. At work, I suggested that my colleagues take their minds off their phones for at least an hour and play various games. Starting today, I want to start a personal challenge by removing distracting apps for a week and gradually reducing the time spent in them”.

Day 7: Mass Blogging

Dina Karabalina: Chief Specialist of Human Resources Management:

“On the seventh day, all the guys who took part in the challenge gathered near the Ulken River in Almaty. Within a few hours, a large amount of garbage was collected, clearing the coastal area. Working together, we have demonstrated by our example the importance of caring for the cleanliness of the environment. It was very nice to hear words of gratitude from Almaty residents who saw how the guys put their efforts into the improvement of the city. This day has become a symbol of the fact that young employees of JSC AlES and other companies of JSC Samruk-Kazyna not only talk about the need for environmental changes, but also act, bringing real benefits to their city. Cleaning the territory of the Ulken river in Almaty has become a significant contribution to preserving the natural beauty of Almaty and improving the quality of life of citizens”.

The participants of the challenge were inspired by their achievements and grateful to the organizers for the opportunity to make a real contribution to environmental well-being. The first stage of the challenge left all participants feeling satisfied and proud of the work they had done. The first stage was introductory in nature and lasted one week. The second and third stages will last for two weeks and allow participants to determine which eco-habits have become a part of their lives.
