Deputy Sergei Ponomarev visited CHPP-2 named after A.Zhakutov
On January 9, 2025 the deputy of Majilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sergey Ponomarev and representatives of the party «AMANAT» visited CHPP-2 named after A.Zhakutov. The guests were introduced to the construction site and informed about the current implementation status of the construction of a new plant based on a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT).
«CHPP-2 is an important facility for ensuring the energy security of Almaty. This plant not only provides the city with heat, but also has a significant impact on the environment. We were provided with important information about the introduction of new technologies, efficient use of energy sources and air quality control systems, which are implemented at the plant», – said Sergey Ponomarev.
During the visit, the deputy expressed his support for the endeavors of «AlES» JSC in solving environmental issues.
«Currently, the energy sector of the country is undergoing significant changes, and we need to make effective and environmentally responsible decisions. Innovations and high technologies introduced at CHPP-2 are an important step in this regard. Supporting the work of such enterprises and their further development is our primary task» – emphasized Sergey Ponomarev.
Sergey Ponomarev also noted the importance of CHPP-2 in increasing the energy potential of Almaty and the Almaty region. The introduction of new technologies at the new plant contributes towards improving the environmental conditions in the region, ensuring quality control of emissions and rational use of resources.
The deputy pointed out that the success of implementation of such large-scale projects greatly depends on the high level of professionalism and well-coordinated work of the enterprise’s staff.
For reference: the project «Modernization of Almaty CHP-2 with minimization of environmental impact» is being implemented as part of the execution of the order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev dated July 10, 2021 to construct a new combined cycle plant at Almaty CHP-2 in order to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, to ensure the reliability and efficiency of energy and heat supply through the use of modern environmentally friendly technologies.
