Curbs painted in four colors and bearing lot of sense

Hot June morning, fresh paint on brushes, bright colors and genuine smiles on faces – this is how the Saturday in health children’s camp “Edelweiss” has began

The morning of June 5, 2025, was filled with excitement at Edelweiss. More than fifty young AlES employees and AUES students came together to tidy up the camp, where more than a hundred children spend their summer holidays every year. Red, green, yellow, and blue are not just colors, but symbols of care, unity, and a common future created by the hands of young and caring people.

The Edelweiss children’s health camp is an important part of AlES’s social life. Every year, more than 400 children of energy workers come here to improve their health, and caring for the camp grounds is seen by the participants as a heartwarming mission. On this day, they painted the gates and almost all the curbs on the camp grounds using bright colors – red, green, yellow, and blue – and cleaned up trash. The weather was muggy, and the sun was relentless, but this only strengthened the sense of team spirit and common purpose.

Batraly Aidaraly, an electrician repairing equipment at the CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev, shared his impressions:

“The community work day took place in a surprisingly friendly and well-organized atmosphere. There was a lot of work to do, but everything was clearly distributed, and no one was left out. It all ended with a pleasant tea party – a small thing, but it warms the heart!

Students from the Almaty University of Energy and Communications named after G.Daukeyev were a big part of the event. They’re not just volunteers; they’re the future of the industry. In 2024, AlES JSC and AUEC signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Now students undergo practical training in the company’s production departments, and the best of them receive a unique opportunity – an internship at the University of Genoa (Italy). These are real steps towards the international training of young specialists and the study of European experience at existing energy facilities.

Aldiyar Bayserik, a student of the AUES course specializing in Thermal Power Engineering:

“We are very grateful for this opportunity. AlES not only supports students, but also truly involves them in the life of the company. By participating in the community work day, we felt like we were part of a big and important cause.”

His classmate Nurdaulet Makhdot added:

“Working alongside AlES employees, we felt that this is the kind of environment in which we want to build our careers.”

Bikensulu Mamraeva, chief specialist in the Works and Services Department, is participating in the community work day for the second year:

“This has become a good tradition. It’s nice to know that our contribution makes the camp more beautiful and comfortable – for children, for the future.”

The community work day at Edelweiss was not just a labor event organized by the youth organization Zharqyn Bolashak – it was a day filled with meaning, care, teamwork, and hope for the future. At moments like these, it becomes especially clear that AlES is not just about energy, but also about the energy of people.
