This is what participants in the new project of the Samruk-Kazyna Foundation for women leaders say

At the end of October, the first module of the “Gender Equality” project was held in Astana. The program was developed within the framework of the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to gradually increase the share of women in the management bodies of companies with state participation. The organizer of the program was Samruk Business Academy. From JSC AlES, Gulmira Aldashukurova, head of the chemical workshop of CHPP-2 named after. A. Zhakutova and Anara Imanova, head of the company’s maintenance department.

– I would like to note the fact that at the time of submitting an application to participate in the above project there were many willing participants! But 80 people out of 179 passed the selection. I was pleased to be among those who passed the first stage of selection! – shared Anara Imanova. – The first training module was completed in one breath thanks to the excellent organization of the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund. We received theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of corporate governance.

Representatives of Kazakhtelecom JSC, Kazpost JSC, NAC Kazatomprom JSC, NC KazMunayGas JSC, NGK Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, JSC took part in the project Samruk-Energy” and other companies of the Fund’s group.

On the first day, program participants were tested to assess their personal potential. The next day, the first training module “Board of Directors, Supervisory Board, Management Board – Roles and Responsibilities” began. The participants were told about the concept and principles of corporate governance, the structure of the company’s management bodies, their functions, rights and responsibilities.

– The new format of training, in which I was lucky enough to become a participant, amazed me with its scale! – continued Gulmira Aldashukurova. – So many women leaders with powerful potential were gathered in a huge, incredibly beautiful hall! The energy of the event was off the charts for two days. As a production worker, the topic of corporate governance was very interesting to me! The first module has been completed and we now understand why we need to promote gender equality! There are many exciting and interesting topics ahead of us that I will look forward to!

The girls have a long learning process ahead, 4 more modules. Upon completion of all modules, they are sure that a new stage in life awaits them.

AlES: stories of women’s success

In August 2022, the first meeting of the Women’s Club was held at AlES JSC. The Regulations of the Women’s Club, topics and schedule of meetings are presented for discussion.

In September, the second meeting of the women’s club was held – an informal association of women, which included representatives from all departments of the company. One of the main goals is to unite the company’s employees to strengthen the role of women and expand opportunities for women in production. As well as discussing the problems of women’s society in production and developing rational solutions and their implementation, promoting the development of women’s initiatives in production, promoting gender equality through effective planning.

The state and the company will only benefit if there are more women’s success stories. AlES JSC employs 628 women. There are 133 of them in leadership positions.

More than 40 female workers, representatives of the company’s production structural divisions, took part in the September meeting. An independent international expert on gender economics, Aliya Kadyrovna Ilyasova, was invited to the club meeting. She spoke about gender policy in Kazakhstan and the problems of promoting equal opportunities. Next, Aigul Kurganbaeva, press secretary of the company, shared her knowledge and practical planning experience. As a result, club members outlined personal plans for work and self-development.

– The idea of ​​women’s space has been brewing for a long time. Here representatives of the fair half share their experience, knowledge, abilities, and skills. I believe that every woman has talents and gifts. The club was created for live communication, acquaintance, exchange of experience and information, for the creation of new and interesting projects,” noted Daria Shaizhanova, head of the human development department of AlES JSC.

Zhanar Sabikenova, head of the personnel training department, believes that the mission of the club is to support and unlock the potential of every representative of the fair sex: “By creating a women’s club, we are trying to unite the women of our company, providing them with additional opportunities for career and personal growth. In addition, the club pays great attention to the development of family values ​​and traditions, raising children, and self-development.”

During the unofficial part of the event, women were given an introductory tour of CHPP-1 named after. B. Orazbaeva.

– We plan for the Club to become a platform for open communication among participants. We hope to implement events of various formats aimed at developing competencies and achieving a sustainable level of life balance,” shared Asel Arginbaeva, Managing Director for Economics and Finance. – We are confident that the club members will become more confident, active and proactive.

– Sometimes you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of work and suddenly an offer appears to visit the Women’s Club. I agreed without even thinking, and I am very happy that the Women’s Club appeared in my life! And along with him there are beautiful girls, interesting interlocutors who happily come to our meetings in order to communicate, share their knowledge, their experience, their feminine energy. This is very valuable!
