Almaty Electric Power Stations JSC announces an environmental contest: “Best Environmentally Responsible Department”

The aim of the competition is to gain experience in environmentally oriented activities, improve environmental culture, develop sustainable skills of environmentally responsible behavior, strengthen creative relations between ecologists of departments, expand their horizons, erudition and communication skills.

This event is timed to coincide with the Day of the Ecologist, announced at the initiative of the Stockholm Conference on the Environment in June 1972, and is annually celebrated on June 5 as World Environment Day.

The date of this professional holiday is officially established in the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

The aim of the competition is to increase the knowledge of the Company’s employees in the field of environmental protection and provide a deep understanding of environmental aspects and risks.

Competition description: The Company’s production departments will present their Department’s environmental responsibility system, share their success in minimizing environmental risks, implementing environmental programs, and interacting with the environment.

Participants: responsible ecologists of production departments of JSC “AlES”.

Requirements for an environmental contest:

* brief history and description of the production department;

* analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of environmental protection activities (maintenance of the Company’s environmental policy, assessment and implementation of environmental requirements, current environmental obligations, storage system for production and consumption waste, implementation of an environmental management system, principles of environmental promotion and education).

Stages of the contest:

May 14, 2020-promotion announcement;

 June 05, 2020-summing up and announcing the results of the environmental contest.

Competition participants ‘ incentive forms:

The finalists of the competition are awarded with corresponding diplomas. Information on the results of the environmental contest will be posted on the Company’s website.
