AlES Youth: Energy of Ideas and Solutions
More than 80 delegates from all production departments of Almaty Electric Stations JSC took part in the VI Youth Forum. All of them are members of the youth organisation ZharqynBolashak, which has been bringing together active and enterprising young specialists from AlES for 12 years.
The forum was opened by Yerik Mashirov, Chairman of the Board of Almaty Electric Stations JSC. In his speech, he noted the key role that young energy specialists play in the production life of AlES, emphasizing that young people are the driving force behind the company’s development and its future.
Asset Amirbekov, Chairman of the Zharkyn Bolashak organisation, presented a report on the work done in 2025. He highlighted the key initiatives, projects and results that the organization focused on in the past year. It was particularly emphasized that the organization does not limit itself to social and leisure issues.

Currently, the organisation’s primary mission is to contribute to the formation of a strong talent pool of future leaders for AlES. Therefore, over the years of the organisation’s activity, the Zharkyn Bolashak youth forum has become a platform where the results of work are summarised, ideas are exchanged, plans for the future are made, and the opportunities, potential and professional prospects of young employees are discussed together with the company’s management, as well as programmes for the development of young people’s competencies. An open dialogue and in-depth discussion of issues allows for more effective use of the energy and potential of young employees in both production and socially significant activities.

At the 6 th Youth Forum, the key event was a strategic session with the participation of AlES top management. Young energy specialists were particularly interested in the training on the topic of ‘Leadership’ conducted by Mukhtar Bekzhanov, director of the Kokzhiek Centre for Individual and Business Psychology. The young specialists raised questions related to the company’s production and development, and then modelled prospects themselves, trying on the roles of future leaders. This format confirmed that leadership is not only the ability to identify a problem, but also the willingness to propose solutions, take responsibility and think strategically.
“There is enormous value in open dialogue with top management, as well as in analyzing real production cases, for the further implementation of the company’s youth policy,” said Aidar Beisenov, chief technologist at the Kapshagai HPP named after Sh.Chokin. ‘I think the current forum has become a powerful platform for sharing experiences, and it will contribute to the further professional growth and strengthening of the leadership competencies of its participants.”

During the practical sessions, delegates discussed such topical issues as influencing skills, effective communication and team management, and received practical tools for developing leadership thinking. ‘The forum participants acquired new knowledge and practical skills that will help them become professionals,’ said Saken Tileubaev, chief project manager at CHPP-2.

It is noteworthy that one of the key symbols of the forum was the word ‘success’. Muhamed Kuan, master of VKiGMH CHPP-1, devoted his speech to this topic – team success. He also emphasized the high level of organization of the event, noting that the leadership that young people aspire to is a great responsibility, since everyone is part of a team in production. And only when a leader has a goal does a team exist.
Summing up the discussions, Ilyas Zhambyl, lead engineer at PTO FRUT, expressed his confidence that the forum had given an important impetus to the development of leadership qualities and that the participants had realized their readiness to take responsibility not only for themselves but also for their team.
