AlES: we are proud and remember

In May, when lilacs, chestnuts and acacia blossom, when the scent of victory is in the air, the employees of JSC AlES honour their veterans. Special attention is paid to 11 home front workers, and 23 internationalist soldiers and persons who took part in the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl NPP catastrophe.

Official events dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory were held on 6 May 2023 at CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev. The staff of the plant expressed their deep gratitude to the war veterans. On this day the power engineers honoured Malik Saidygulov, a machinist of the central thermal control panel of boiler control of the boiler shop of the station. At one time he performed tasks to strengthen the protection of the CIS border in the Tajikistan- Afghanistan section. Another veteran is Yury Milyukhin, a tractor driver of the motor transport section. He took part in liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster in 1986-1987.

Also by tradition employees of CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev laid flowers at the Victory obelisk on the territory of the station. Youth activity of the plant together with trade union committee congratulated three veterans of the home front: Praskovya Konstantinovna Aksenova, Evlampiya Fominichna Govorukhina and Alexey Fedorovich Korobkin. The veterans thanked the power engineers for their attention to them and conveyed to the management and staff of the company their great gratitude for their memory and attention.

– It is thanks to such initiatives and actions that the memory of the war, its participants, home front heroes and all those heroes who stood up for the defence of the country in difficult situations is preserved. Meetings with veterans, ceremonial events and attention to their needs is an informal act, it is our duty, it is an expression of gratitude for peace, it is a responsibility before the future, it is a relay race of memory. Special words of gratitude to the home front workers who worked at the station, said Alibek Tastanbekov, Director of CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev

CHPP-3 also has its own patriotic traditions. Every year on the eve of Victory Day, power engineers come to personally congratulate the plant’s employees and home front workers. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer participants of the Great Patriotic War: only four veterans met this Victory Day. One of them is Yulia Ivanovna Frolova, who is already 94 years old. Despite her advanced age, her spirit and energy impress and inspire the team.

– AlES JSC has a good tradition to honour its home front workers and Afghan warriors. It is very heartfelt and exciting. Every year on 9 May we lay flowers at the Victory Monument in our village Otegen Batyr, – shared Alexander Gorokhov, Head of Logistics Department of CHPP-3.

On these May days, the WHC team also congratulated the employees of the boiler shop – veterans Yermek Sasykov, who took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, and Yerlan Urkenbaev, an internationalist warrior.

The staff of CHPP-2 also honoured three of its veterans: Serikbay Yekeibayev, a mechanic for maintenance of power plant equipment at the turbine shop, an internationalist warrior, and two machinists – Yerzhan Alimzhanov and Bagdat Mametov, who once guarded the CIS border in the Tajikistan-Afghanistan section. The veterans do not hide their words of gratitude, they are happy to be remembered and highly appreciate the support of colleagues and management.

Also on the eve of the holiday were recognised two employees of Kapshagayskaya HPP named after Sh.Chokin. Words of gratitude, spoken by Nikolay Cherkasov, electric and gas welder of electrical installation shop of the station, reminds of the importance of mutual support, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere in the workplace:

– It warms the soul that the memory of the internationalist wars is not erased, we are remembered, because each of us who took part in those events fulfilled his combat task and did everything that depended on him to protect the peaceful population of Afghanistan, – added Nikolay Cherkasov.

Four veterans of the home front and ten soldiers- internationalists were congratulated at PRC Energoremont. Idiris Zhaksygeldiyev served in Afghanistan near Kandahar in 1986-1988 in military unit No.71176, fulfilling his international duty. Now he works as a mechanic for repair of steam-gas-turbine equipment of the 6th category in PRC Energoremont.

All veterans of JSC AlES express their gratitude to the Company’s staff who remember their contribution to the Victory and Peace.
