AlES: staff exercises of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were held
15 and 16 May 2024 AlES JSC participated in the Republican command and staff exercise “Ort-2024” on the topic: “Preparation of management bodies, forces and means of the State Civil Protection System to act in the liquidation of natural fire”. On 15 May in the Situation Room of the Emergency Situations Department of Almaty city operational headquarters, where the theoretical part of the exercise. In the work of the headquarters from JSC AlES participated Head of Civil Defence and Emergency Service Alexander Dovzhik.
– The Dispatch Service of JSC AlES played an important role in the exercise. The speed, efficiency and accuracy of information transfer between the city operational headquarters for emergency response and the operational headquarters of JSC AlES depended on its work during the exercise, said Alexander Dovzhik.
Fire-fighting drills were conducted in production departments and head office of JSC AlES within the framework of the exercise. The main purpose of the exercise was to increase the level of readiness for liquidation of consequences in the conditions of fire-hazardous period. The readiness of production departments to emergency situations was assessed, notification systems and organization of communication were checked, as well as readiness to act of civil protection formations.
An operational headquarters was assembled at the head office to assess the current situation, develop decisions on the exercise and work out the algorithm of actions of the Company’s management personnel in case of accidents, incidents and emergencies.
The production departments took measures to put the forces and means of civil protection formations on standby, and plans to put the formations on standby were updated.
On 16 May 2024, a fire drill was held in the production departments of JSC AlES with activation of the facility-level warning systems, including siren-speech devices and electric sirens, as well as evacuation of all personnel.
– In the head office, fire and electrical safety measures were communicated, and cases of fires both in the workplace and at home were demonstrated. Nikolay Rezanov, a specialist of the Occupational Health and Safety Department, demonstrated practical actions on the use of primary fire extinguishing equipment. A medical worker from the Central Office told about the rules of pre-hospital care in case of burns of various degrees and sunstroke, said Karim Sartayev, Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Department.
16-17 May 2024, according to the organizational and methodological instructions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the command and staff exercise “Ort-2024” moved to the stage of staff training “Korgau-2024” on the topic “Transfer of the state civil protection system from peacetime to martial law”. The exercise was held in the out-of-town control point in the village of Uzynagash, where conditional actions were practiced according to the civil defence plan of the company. The head of the Civil Defence and Emergency Service of JSC AlES together with the Dispatching Service participated in the work.
On 21 May 2024, in accordance with the plan of the City-wide earthquake drill, JSC AlES conducted training on evacuation of employees to safe places in case of an earthquake. Employees were told about the basic rules of behaviour in case of an earthquake, including “10 simple steps in case of an earthquake”.
Participation of JSC AlES in the exercises “Ort-2024” and “Korgau-2024” showed the degree of readiness of the company to act in emergency situations. These events confirmed the effectiveness of the conducted trainings and organizational measures aimed at ensuring safety and prompt response.
