AlES: staff exercises of the Ministry of Emergency Situations “Kys – 2022” were held

On November 24-25, 2022, AlES JSC took part in the Republican command and staff exercises “Kys-2022”. On November 24, an operational headquarters was created in the emergency situation room of the city of Almaty, in which the theoretical part of the exercises was honed. On November 25, the practical part was held in the production departments of CHPP-1 named after B. Orazbayev, CHPP-3 and ZTK. Scenarios of possible emergency situations were worked out: extinguishing a fire in a fuel oil tank and the production building of the workshop, evacuating “injured” workers from an 80-meter chimney and an auxiliary building, restoring power lines and providing medical assistance to the “injured”, search and rescue work by dog handlers in “collapsed” turbine shop building, emergency restoration work on a gas pipeline, emergency restoration work on a main pipeline.

– The main goal of the exercise is to increase the level of readiness of all services to respond to emergency situations in winter conditions. First of all, we work on coherence of interaction. From AlES JSC, emergency technical teams of production departments took part in the event. The Dispatch Service plays a significant role in the exercises, since the speed, efficiency and accuracy of information transfer depend on it. All tasks that were set during the exercises were completed in full,” said Alexander Dovzhik, head of the Civil Defense and Emergency Service of AlES JSC.

Director of CHPP-3 Serik Kaliev noted that workers understand that the exercises are necessary because The station is a strategic life support facility.

– The exercises provided training on joint actions of fire, radiation services, ambulance personnel, as well as emergency rescue services of AlPP. According to the earthquake scenario, there was a pipeline break in the boiler and turbine shops with the release of steam and water. At the same time, 3 people were evacuated and 2 people poisoned by gas were carried out on stretchers. In addition, there was damage to the ammonia container, which was localized by radiation services. The exercises showed the coherence of the work of all services,” Serik Kaliev emphasized.

17 civil protection services were involved in the exercises, 200 people and 62 units of special and rescue equipment took part.
