AlES JSC has successfully completed the heating season of 2024-2025

The heating season ended on 10 April 2025 in accordance with Resolution No.2/2193of the Almaty City Akimat. The decree on termination of heat supply was made in connection with the establishment of stable warm weather: the average daily air temperature exceeded +8°C for five consecutive days.  It should be reminded that the heating season started on 7 October 2024.

The heating season of Almaty Electric Stations JSC lasted 189 days, the company ensured uninterrupted supply of heat and electricity to consumers of Almaty city and Almaty region. For the period of 2024-2025, the company generated 2.9 billion kWh of electricity and 4.8 million Gcal of heat energy, fully fulfilling its contractual obligations.

– The stability of operations during the heating period is our key priority. Thanks to well-coordinated actions of the team and timely preparation we managed to avoid emergency situations and ensure the comfort of residents, – noted the Chairman of the Board of AlES JSC Yerik Kanyshbekovich Mashirov.

The company starts the planned repair campaign with the end of the heating season. The works will affect the main and auxiliary equipment of energy sources, including CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev, CHPP-2 named after A.Zhakutov, CHPP-3, Zapadnaya Thermal Complex, Kapshagai HPP named after Sh.Chokin and Cascade HPP. This will improve the reliability of the systems for the next winter period.

Almaty Electric Stations is still the major energy supplier for the metropolis and the region:

– 70% of heat in the district heating zone;
– 46% of electricity.

The company’s structure includes:

– three combined heat and power plants (B. Orazbayev CHPP-1, A.Zhakutov CHPP-2, CHPP-3);
– Zapadnaya Thermal Complex;
– Sh.Chokin Kapshagai HPP and Cascade HPP;
– production and repair enterprise ‘Energoremont’;
– Water Technology Training Centre (WTC).
