Your distance – your victory
AlES team took part in Almaty Half Marathon 2025
Almaty once again became a city of great movement on 20 April 2025: Almaty Half Marathon brought together 10 000 participants from more than 40 countries. Among them were employees of AlES JSC, who proved that running is not only about speed, it is about willpower, overcoming and unity.
The marathon has become a personal story for each participant – and in all of them the main thing resonates: victory over yourself.
Aset Amirbekov, head of repair service of CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev, believes that the marathon is a dialogue with yourself. He ran 10 km in 50 minutes 22 seconds, improving his result by 10 minutes. He was inspired not only by the goal, but also by the film ‘Peaceful Warrior’, where the hero learns to turn off the noise of the mind and hear the inner power.
– I realized while running the distance: the main thing is not time, but faith in you. I felt a second breath after I realized that I was going for my best result. It’s an incredible feeling when you applaud yourself at the finish line.
– The most valuable thing is to conquer yourself, said Bekzat Kalelov, an electrician at B.Orazbayev CHPP-1. He ran the half-marathon – 21.1 kilometers in 1 hour 32 minutes 38 seconds, improving on last year’s result. But the main thing he went through was an internal struggle.
– I wanted to quit a few times. But my inner voice said: go all the way. It’s not just running. It’s a struggle of patience and faith. I have passed not only through kilometers, but also through myself.
And Dina Abdimazhit, a senior inspector of safety and environmental protection at B.Orazbayev CHPP-1, is sure that when she hears her name, it gives her wings. She ran 10 kilometers, setting a personal record and experiencing a whole lot of emotions.
– I was exhausted, but when you hear your colleagues shouting your name, it’s beyond words. The marathon makes you realize: you are not alone. We are a team, and this feeling is priceless. Dias Asylbekov, a leading engineer for production management organization at Energoremont, recognizes his colleagues on the track at once. This is the second time Dias has run the marathon together with the AlES team:
– When you are close to the people you work with every day, when you support each other even at the finish line, the marathon becomes a holiday. It is not just a sport; it is a way of life for AlES.
And for Bikensulu Mamrayeva, the chief specialist of the Department of works and services, it was the fourth race:
– With every kilometer I walked, I felt euphoria and incredible strength inside me. Participating in such events gives you discipline over yourself, and a kind of drive that you can do anything if you just want to.
Almaty Half Marathon is more than a sport. It is a story about people who are not afraid of challenges, go forward and support each other.
AlES is proud of every participant. You are an example for colleagues and proof that team spirit, determination and faith in oneself can lead to real victories.
