At the same time, the city will be provided with 100% guaranteed lighting. By this time, 110 voltage stations were connected in the city. These measures will ensure uninterrupted and reliable electricity supply to the city, – said Anuarbek Kabylbekov, executive director of Almaty zharyk company JSC.
Almaty zharyk company has 207 power plants, of which 73 are located in the city, and the rest are located in the region. At the moment, JSC” AZHK ” has already updated 31 stations in the city. This work, which requires huge funds, will continue in the coming days.

We can say that the number one Thermal Power Plant (CHPP 1) in Almaty, where we are standing, is the oldest institution. Erected back in the 1930s, the huge complex, which has witnessed two centuries in the thermal Center, provides heat to the city’s residents.
In just two years, CHPP-1, which celebrates its 80th anniversary, will look at JSC “Almaty power plants”. In the largest Heat Supply Center in the city, a lot of equipment has been worn out, and modernization is being carried out here. The old equipment, which has already served its purpose, is being replaced with new ones.
Here we were greeted by the heads of CHPP-1 with good news and full life. One of the activities of the heating Center, which has been operating since 1935, is the conversion from coal to gas. The benefits of this for cleaning the air of a metropolis, the ecology of which is one of the most pressing problems, are immeasurable. However, it can be said that Teo-1 is a special thermal power plant. Three types of fuel can be used here: coal, gas, fuel oil.
Managing Director of the CHP Isakhan Syrgabayev notes that such a center, which works on all three types of fuel, is the only one in Kazakhstan and does not even exist on the territory of the CIS.
According to him, in order to improve the environmental situation in Almaty, the institution, which switched to working with gas, keeps coal and fuel oil only for safety, if there are emergency situations.
In short, CHPP-1, which was once built as a city Edge, now stands in the heart of the city. Here, now qualified specialists are actively working on re-equipment. In the same way, we saw that all the subsidiaries of “Samruk-Energo” had time to prepare properly before winter came. For example, all enterprises of JSC” Almaty power plants ” have created the necessary operational fuel reserves, accumulated 514 thousand tons of coal, 45 thousand tons of fuel oil. And all energy facilities of JSC” Ales ” have been repaired. In particular, 19 energy and 19 water heating boilers, 13 steam turbines, 20 hydroelectric power plants were repaired. If the necessary funds for repair work are planned to be 3.9 billion, then the amount of funds disbursed over 10 months will amount to 3.71 billion tenge (95%).
