Gaziy Ismukhambetov, Managing Director for Production – Chief Engineer of AlES JSC at the 44th International Istanbul Marathon showed 13th result in the age category 60+ at a distance of 42.2 km

On November 6, 2022, 60 thousand people took part in the Istanbul race, including 56 professional athletes. Gaziy Ismukhambetov showed the 13th result in the age category 60+ at the marathon distance out of 140 who took part in this category. It should be noted that this is the world’s only annual transcontinental marathon race of 42.195 km, holder of the World Athletics Elite Label Road Races status. The uniqueness of these competitions is that athletes start on the Asian continent, cross the Bosphorus Bridge and end up in Europe.

“I have long wanted to take part in the Istanbul Marathon,” shared Gaziy Ismukhambetov. – At the finish I felt satisfaction from completing the distance. This is my personal result and a benchmark for future competitions. I have completed four half marathons and three marathons. I’ve been running for four years now. I train early in the morning: the streets are empty, there are no cars… Ideal for me. I usually run 10 kilometers – this is the optimal distance for an hour.

This year, Gaziy Ismukhambetov ran two marathons, one half-marathon, and took prizes. He also took part in the Oceanman Kazakhstan 5 km swim in Kapshagai and in the Visa Tour of World Class Almaty 2022, Giro d’Almaty 2022 cycling race, where he met the standards.

Passion for sports becomes one of the forms of a healthy lifestyle. Gaziy Ismukhambetov believes that it is necessary to maximally raise the level of interest of company employees in strengthening their health and encourages, through his personal example, to actively engage in running, swimming, and cycling.
