The boiler house was a departmental property of the AKHBK and supplied heat and steam to the AKHBK itself and the western districts of the city of Almaty.
In 1972, the boiler house was transferred to the Alma-Ata Heat Network Enterprise (APTS) and it was named Western District Boiler House (ZRK). After this, in 1973, another hot water boiler was installed. As the city grew, its need for heat grew. To meet this need in 1975-
In 1978, another boiler shop was built, in which four hot water boilers were installed. This workshop was given the name South-Western Regional Boiler House (SWRK).

to which seven heating mains are currently connected, supplying the city with heat and hot water. The central heating station passes through itself 2/3 of the water circulating in the city heating networks and, in fact, is the “thermal heart” of Almaty.
In the early 80s, active development began in the western districts of the city,
At the same time, the City Executive Committee decided to build another boiler shop. In 1986, the first, and in 1988, the second stage of the New-Western Regional Boiler House (NZRK) was built, which also became part of the APTS.
