We have the first one hundred issues!
Dear friends – our readers and co-authors. Having started in October 2016, our corporate monthly publication “News of AlES JSC” has been steadily and fairly informing the team of power engineers about the most important events of the company for more than eight years!
Today we have prepared a special 100th jubilee issue of the newspaper. We will traditionally report on the most interesting and important news from the life of the AlES JSC team. We will also think and discuss together how to make the issues of the newspaper meet the expectations, interests and demands of the readers – all of you.
Based on its format, the bilingual “News of AlES JSC” has long gone beyond the scope of an informational newsletter. The corporate newspaper has gone through a complex path of changes and transformations during 8 years of publication: and what was news yesterday, with the passage of time has developed into the chronicle of the company, which is written by all of you at your workplaces, and therefore in the newspaper.
After all, the great history of the company is formed of thousands of daily activities of each employee of the company, united by a common cause, common tasks, and common goals. All of us together create a modern history of electric and heat power industry of Almaty and Almaty region. It will be available in years and decades to new generations, as all issues of the newspaper are stored in the electronic archive of the company. The newspaper already occupies 3.91 Gbytes of memory, and each of you can read its content, find an interesting publication or photo.
We would like to recall some important events and figures. The readers of the pilot issue of the corporate newspaper “News of AlES JSC” have got to see the pilot issue of the newspaper on 1 October 2016. The main topic of the pilot issue was the commissioning of boiler unit №8 at CHPP-2, which took place on 21 September 2016. This issue also included materials on the start-up of CHPP-1 for the winter and winter period, on the certification, on the participation of AlES in the exhibition “PowerKazakhstan 2016” and much more. Then, in 2016, we collected the wishes of all departments on what they would like to learn from the corporate edition.
We listened carefully to the wishes and implemented many of them. Today, the newspaper has several permanent sections:

➤ “Mentors: who leads us to become masters”, “What do they read in AlES?”, “Rationalization Proposals”… A large segment of the newspaper is devoted to practical materials: we inform you about the results of production activities for the current month, about the issues discussed at the meetings of the Board of Directors and the Management Board, about personnel appointments and changes in the teams, we talk about labor safety, personnel training, and ethics of business communication. We monitor the most important events in the global energy industry and publications in the Kazakhstani media about our company in order to promptly inform you about them all. And we are always happy to inform you about important events in the lives of our thousands of employees: births of children, anniversaries, honored awards, retirements, volunteering and hobbies. Such information brings people together, strengthens friendships, and fosters a sense of belonging and pride in our company.
We have published more than 1000 photos in the previous 99 issues, and 98 employees have become heroes of our publications. Over the years, we have redesigned the newspaper five times, based on your wishes and in an effort to make it more attractive. And if the first issue consisted of only… five pages, now, by journalistic standards, it can be referred to the so-called “fluffy newspaper”. Every month we have over fifty pages of exclusive content!
The publication is published in two languages, so the translators do no less extensive work than the authors of the publications. Some sections of the newspaper are proposed and maintained by separate departments. For example, “Human.Society.Nature” section is filled with materials prepared by the employees of the Environmental Protection Department. Therefore, we can say with good reason that the newspaper is the fruit of our joint work. Articles of the newspaper are posted on the website, in social networks. It is also distributed by e-mail, making it available to our pensioners and veterans, who always want to be informed about the activities at AlES JSC, where they have been working for decades.
