Unusual Vacations – 2020

We continue to tell you how children of employees of Almaty Power Plants JSC spend their holidays

Great Almaty Around the World Tour

Vladimir, the son of Lyudmila Kurbatova, a software engineer at the HPP Cascade, is only 7 years old. This year he will only start school. Volodya goes in for different sports: he goes to wrestling and chess classes. He also loves to play percussion instruments. But most of all Volodya likes hiking in the mountains.
This year, he and his dad mastered the difficult three-day route “Big Almaty Around the World,” one of the most beautiful trekking routes in the Trans-Ili Alatau. This is not the easiest journey: the route has quite a few rocky paths through moraines and screes, along fast mountain streams and crystal clear lakes. Not all adults can complete this transition in three days. And Vladimir passed!
“The start began from the Chimbulak resort,” Volodya said, “then we walked to the Bolshoi Talgarsky pass, crossing the Left Talgar and Touristov gorges, and from there to the Touristov pass.” This is the highest point on the hike – 4,000 m above sea level. Then a descent to the foot of the Sovetov peak, and from there to the Big Almaty Lake. Not far from the pass, we had the coldest night during our overnight stay. Despite the fact that the temperature in the city at that time was 40 degrees, there were frosts at night on the pass. Even the water froze by morning. The Great Almaty Around the World Tour is perhaps my most vivid impression of the summer.

I want to become a great dancer

The daughter of Aidos Masiraliev, a mechanic for servicing power plant equipment at the turbine shop of CHPP-1, Lina graduated with excellent grades from the fourth grade of gymnasium No. 139. Since early childhood she has been interested in dancing.
“I’ve been dancing in the Kun Alemi ensemble since I was three years old,” Lina shared, “I have many diplomas, medals and cups. Thanks to dancing, she visited such cities as Nursultan, Turkestan,

Shymkent and Karaganda. Dancing reveals my inner world and gives me self-confidence. They develop my physical capabilities: flexibility, slimness and activity. At school, since the first grade, I have been participating in the scientific project “Zerde”. The title of my work is “How dancing affects the heart.” This project was awarded the Grand Prix at school, I received second place in the city, and third in the republic. I dance all holidays. This is my life!
Lina has a dream – to become a great dancer, like Shara Zhienkulova. We are confident that it will come true.

Football is my life

The son of Guldana Bapyshova, a translator in the personnel sector of the ZTK, Nurislam at the age of 7 wanted to play football.
Today he plays in the “Football School Almaty” team as a forward. Every time he participates in friendly matches. Nurislam is a hyperactive boy, also left-handed and very fast. Many argue that the southpaw has strong punches.

Nurislam does not miss training, and at the same time studies with straight A’s.
“When we win, we forget all the difficulties and obstacles we faced. Now I also train myself. We need to keep ourselves in shape,” Nurislam said.
Watching her son play football, the boy’s mother became interested in this game.

Dance holidays

The 10-year-old daughter of Zakhida Kibirova, an accountant at the Cascade Hydroelectric Power Plant, Arzu, is dancing at home. This is her hobby. This summer, Arzu is not able to visit the choreographic studio due to quarantine. But this is not a hindrance for the girl.

She selects music, studies movements on her own on the Internet, and makes mini performances.
— Choreography classes have a positive effect on me. I want to move beautifully and not be shy to express my emotions in dance. Dancing, I relax.
According to Arzu’s mother, this hobby brings her girl a lot of positive emotions, helps her relax and allows her to simply enjoy life.

Julia’s creative activities

Yulia, the 12-year-old daughter of ZTK chemical service laboratory assistant Asel Glushko, has been distinguished since childhood by perseverance, accuracy, patience and the desire to learn everything and be on time everywhere. Her parents always supported her in all her endeavors. Julia found her favorite thing.
Having once tried to sew clothes for a doll, she became interested in needlework – sewing. Since then, Asel has been teaching her daughter how to properly design a pattern so that the clothes acquire an aesthetic appearance.

In addition, Yulia enjoys reading poetry and writing interesting stories and fairy tales. Taking part in competitions, Julia took prizes, which interested her even more. Julia is also studying languages - Kazakh and English.

During distance learning, her progress in learning languages was especially helpful. Teachers often praised Yulia for completing assignments quickly and correctly. Despite the difficulties of the current moment, she completed fifth grade with excellent marks!
Parents, seeing the successes and achievements of their children, are happy and proud of them. Give your children time and attention, teach them patience and hard work, sports and active recreation.
