ALMATY POWER PLANTS JSC ANNOUNCES THE ENVIRONMENTAL CAMPAIGNS CALLED «GIVE THE BATTERY A SECOND LIFE» AND «PAPER LANDING TROOP» AIMED AT COLLECTING AND HANDING OVER THE USED BATTERIES AND WASTE PAPER
The purpose of the campaign: Raising the attention of employees of the company to waste collection, environmental clean-up in general, shaping an active social standpoint and training the hazardous waste disposal skills.
Objective of the campaign: to organise active collection and handing in of used batteries for further recycling, as well as to collect and recycle several tonnes of waste paper, thus saving dozens of trees, and to develop a culture of careful attitude to resources and environmental responsibility at the corporate level.
Campaign description: until 02 December the participants of the campaign will collect used batteries for further transfer to the company engaged in their recycling, and paper waste, which is generated in the process of daily work of the Company – office paper, magazines, advertising printing, newspapers, old and out-of-use books, paper packaging, cardboard. After the end of the campaign, all collected waste paper will be handed over to a specialised organisation for recycling in accordance with the signed agreement.
In the Production Department, used batteries should be handed over to the responsible ecologists of the Department, in the Head Office, in working cabinet 234.
Participants: all employees of the Company.
Requirements for environmental actions:
Accepted:
- all types of spent (used) batteries (pinky, finger, crown, barrel, pill);
- batteries from mobile phones and children’s toys.
Used batteries are accepted in boxes, cartons, or thick polythene bags.
Accepted:
- magazines, old and out-of-use books, newspapers;
- cardboard and corrugated cardboard packaging, archives;
- waste from the printing house, etc.
Before handing over waste paper is put into boxes, it can be tied with rope or twine.
Conditions of waste paper delivery:
- paper and cardboard should be dry, clean, written on 2 sides;
- documents and assembled products are accepted without staples, staples, files, staplers;
- items must not be contaminated with varnish, chemicals or oils.
Stages of the campaign:
- 08 January 2024 – announcement of the campaign;
- until 02 December 2024 – acceptance and weighing of batteries;
- 23 December 2024 – summarizing and announcing the results of battery collection.
