The main environmental measures for 2019
In 2019, all planned environmental protection measures were completed, including:
For the protection of atmospheric air:
Work has been carried out to maintain the degree of purification of ash-collecting devices at boiler units of stations, repair and replacement of air heater cubes, repair of burners of boilers, emulsifiers, anti-corrosion work has been carried out, metal structures, pipes, worn heating surfaces have been replaced, measures have been implemented to increase efficiency, violations in the technological cycle at boiler units have been eliminated, work on dedusting the fuel supply path, routine commissioning work on boiler units, aspiration units of CHP-1, 2, 3. Emissions monitoring and exposure monitoring were carried out at the border of the sanitary protection zone of all production departments
The costs amounted to about 508.3 million tenge.
On the protection and rational use of water resources:
Pumping equipment was repaired in the boiler house, turbine, chemical workshops, treatment plants of CHP-1, measures were taken to inventory and reduce water losses during transportation of ash and slag waste to CHP-2 and CHP-3, repair of the recycling system for industrial purposes (bagernaya, cooling towers) at CHP-2, sanitary and microbiological studies of samples were carried out water at the Kapshagai HPP.
The costs amounted to about 115 million tenge.
On the protection of land resources, rational use of mineral resources, flora and fauna:
Work was carried out to replace worn-out pipelines to prevent the spillage of ash and slag waste and pulp, landscaping of territories of administrative-territorial units was carried out, to increase the area of green spaces at CHP-1, to reclaim degraded territories at CHP-2 and CHP-3, to lay a protective layer on top of a stack of loam, strengthening slopes by sowing grasses, the construction of a loam embankment dam at CHP-2, work on preparing the soil for the installation of starter and ordinary lawns, with sowing of grasses and watering of grass crops with water at CHP-3. The construction and arrangement of a temporary storage site for production and consumption waste at the ZTC has been carried out.
The costs amounted to about 48 million tenge.
On waste management of production and consumption, radiation, biological and chemical safety:
Work has been carried out on the reconstruction and expansion of the ash dump at CHP-2, work to prevent dusting of the combined ash and slag removal system of CHP-1, 2, 3, solid household waste, mercury-containing lamps and other hazardous waste from the departments of CHP-1, 2, 3, ZTK, Kapshagayskaya HPP, Cascade HPP, etc. “Energy repair”.
The costs amounted to about 593 million tenge.
To implement the principle of separate waste collection and familiarize employees and contractors with it, a Memo for the separate collection and storage of solid waste has been developed. The document “Requirements of the Company in the field of environmental protection for administrative and production personnel of the Company’s departments and performers engaged in the supply of goods, performance of works and provision of services on the territory of the Company” has been developed for familiarization during briefings to production personnel and contractors.
In September 2019, an environmental challenge “Hand over waste paper – save the tree!” was held, according to the results of the campaign, 3204 kg of waste paper was handed over, in the amount of 144 thousand tenge.
