The XI International Forum of Energy Veterans of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CIS was opened by the Chairman of the Council of Energy Veterans of Kazakhstan, Sovetkhan Seytkalievich Nurpeisov. The participants of the event were shown a film about the achievements of the republic’s energy sector in the period from 1922-1990.
During the Forum, the Chairman of the Board of the Union of Energy Engineers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alexander Stepanovich Trofimov, “On the 60th anniversary of the formation of the Ministry of Energy and Electrification of the Kazakh SSR,” was heard. It was noted that the fruitful activities of the Ministry of Energy of the Kazakh SSR, the 60th anniversary of which is celebrated today, should become for young modern leaders a truly worthy example of successful management of the country’s most important energy industry.
A separate topic of discussion was the speech of the Chairman of the Kazakhstan Industry Trade Union of Energy Workers, Orazbek Telbaevich Bekbas. He expressed concern that the level of wages in the energy sector is 18% lower than the average monthly wage in the republic. This issue has been repeatedly raised by the Kazenergotrade Union before the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other government agencies up to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. However, there is no final solution to this issue yet.
“At the forum, well-known people in the entire energy community of the CIS, major organizers of energy production, heads of delegations from Russia Vladimir Andreevich Peshkun, Uzbekistan – Akram Kurbanovich Irgashev, Kyrgyzstan – Ilyas Abdulovich Davydov spoke at the forum,” said Bisembek Abenovich Sabyrkulov. – In addition, I would like to express my gratitude for the warm welcome of the organizers, the clear organization and high business level of the forum.
Forum participants discussed the energy agenda of the post-Soviet region. The most important challenge for the industry, in their opinion, is the wear and tear of power lines in the Republic of Kazakhstan – it reaches 80%, and equipment up to 60%.
The issues submitted to the forum were widely discussed by the delegates and relevant proposals and wishes were adopted on the issues raised in the industry, which are reflected in the adopted resolution. It was decided to send the Forum Resolution to the relevant industry management bodies – the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Samruk-Energy JSC, KEGOC JSC, KEA and the heads of large energy companies and enterprises for consideration and taking measures to implement the forum decisions.
