– Every year we congratulate our girls on a wonderful Women’s Day. Since 2013, Zharkyn Bolashak activists have regularly held charity events for the children of Orphanage No. 1. “Today we all watched the film “Looking for Mom-2” together and had lunch,” noted Fariza Botakaraeva, Chairman of the Municipal Organization “Zharkyn Bolashak”.

– I am very glad that the number of orphanage pupils is decreasing. In 2013, there were about 150 children in the orphanage, then in 2019 there were 65 children. Today, the orphanage houses 26 girls and 39 boys aged from 8 to 18 years. Over the past 6 years, we have seen different fates of children: some were taken by their parents, restoring parental rights, some, upon reaching the age of 18, moved to a home for adults, and others were adopted by foster parents.

As the employees of the orphanage told us, the process of adopting children occurs as follows: first, a trusting relationship is built between the child and those wishing to adopt, then foster care is established by law for a period of 1 year, after a positive result, the adoptive parents submit an application to the court and by a court decision can adopt children and receive full custody of the child.

The guardianship authorities thoroughly check the compliance of the requirements of the adoptive parents. Restoration of parental rights occurs in the same way, continued Fariza Botakaraeva. – I would especially like to note that at the very beginning of our patronage, we went through a complex official procedure for permission to visit children. But these difficulties are left behind. Now we have established warm, trusting relationships with the guys.

“We really enjoyed spending the day surrounded by children. I love them very much. It was easy for me to communicate as children; we immediately found a common language. The children are very sociable, cheerful, friendly,” said Kaynar Shylgaubay, an activist of the youth organization “Zharkyn Bolashak”, an electrician at UTAI-1 PRP “Energoremont”.

– Last year I visited an orphanage for the first time. And from that moment on, the desire to help children did not leave me. I thought about it and came to the idea that rather than spending money on unnecessary things, I would rather help people in need.

The guys and I always try to help people who find themselves in difficult situations (funding for treatment, buying necessary goods, food, things, etc.) It’s joyful to see smiles on children’s faces. I’m very glad that we were able to organize a holiday for the girls,” said Tamirlan Akhmetzhan, an activist of the youth organization “Zharkyn Bolashak”, a mechanic at the turbine shop URTO-2 of the Energoremont PRP.
