In the heating season, which begins in mid-October, several institutions of our city have been working on traditional annual preparations to make the city’s residents confident enough to meet the winter cold without worries. According to the custom of the year, this year the heat supply companies promise that they are “ready for service”. As the heating season approaches, companies engaged in this area are organizing a press tour for journalists to show how ready they are. For this purpose, JSC” Almaty power plants “(“ales”) also presented the current state of the thermal power plant 2 (CHPP 2).

The Times of old installations have passed

“It should be noted that the press tour discussed how” “Ales “” JSC is fulfilling its investment obligations.” These obligations for 2009-2012, according to the company’s managers, had to be extended until 2013. This is due to the fact that large-scale work will not be completed in just 1-2 years. So, during this period, the company has 51 billion on its neck. the task was to correctly develop more than tenge. According to reporters, 31% of the funds were spent on increasing production volumes, 3.1% – on reducing production costs, 33.1% – on maintaining the current state of production, 17.8% – on the construction of ash storage facilities and 15% – on environmental measures.
In general, JSC” Ales ” is an energy producing institution engaged in the production and provision of heat and electricity in Almaty and Almaty region. According to the data released by the company, today 60-70 percent of the devices at the energy generating facilities facing it are worn out. Especially, it seems that the situation with the installations at CHPP 1, CHPP 2, HPP “Cascade” requires replacement with modern equipment.
However, the company is not looking at this issue, but is trying to take appropriate measures and put things in order. During the visit to CHPP-2, the company’s management informed about the work carried out in it, told about the repair, modernization and replacement of boilers, steam, water pumping, as well as electric current distribution equipment with modern devices. Even the newly built collector building will be put into operation in the near future, with the beginning of the heating season. At the same time, a new one has been built, which is attached to the building where the old boiler houses are located, and it is also ready for maintenance in the coming heating season. Magnetic readings were installed at all three CHPPS, the fans were overhauled, and the cooling cooling towers were also repaired for the extraction of salt water.

Special attention is paid to the environmental situation

“According to Deputy Chairman of the board of “”ales “” JSC for production, chief engineer Gaziy Esmukhambetov, in the near future near CHPP-2, the facilities of the Winter Universiade Games will be built in 2017 in our city.” At the same time, other socially significant facilities will be built in the vicinity of the city. That is, the goal is to attract heat and light to them from nearby places. At the same time, according to Gaziy Zhumabayevich, smoke traps are installed in the huge twin towers, where smoke is released, and the amount of toxic gas released into the air is significantly reduced.
– In order to reduce the impact of CHPP 1, located in the center of the city, on the ecology of the city, the center will be simplified and the main power will go to CHPP 2. A new heating network will be built here, as a result of which we will easily transport heat reserves that will reach the city through double networks, – he says.
It should be noted that on the initiative of the mayor of the city Akhmetzhan Yessimov, the entire CHPP-1 was switched to environmentally friendly fuel. However, one should not forget about caution, and if there is a severe cold in winter, coal and fuel oil are ready as additional fuel.
It is very important to ensure that heat and electricity are safe for residents of the city and are suitable for their needs, so that there are no accidents. In this direction, the annual repair of the main and additional devices has yielded results, and now the number of accidents has decreased by up to 50%. Also, pumps and electric motors, devices that ensure the comfort of workplaces and other small equipment are often updated, which are often replaced.
Measures aimed at improving the quality of service of the giant company, which includes three CHPP and HPP “Cascade” and “Kapshagai”, will give their results and will allow to increase production volumes in the future. However, it is worth noting that these works may negatively affect the utility bills of the city’s residents in the future. According to Gaziy Esmukhambetov, the price issue is currently being discussed with the Department of the agency for regulation of natural monopolies in Almaty. As you remember, prices for utilities, such as heating and gas, increased in January of this year. But, the exact solution is not yet known. Therefore, it seems that there is no need to argue that the price will rise in the near future.
Thus, JSC” Ales ” has fulfilled its investment obligations within the established time frame and successfully fulfills the prerequisites for uninterrupted Heat Supply and high-quality services for the residents of the city and the region in the coming winter.
