Main environmental measures for 2012

Air protection:

1. Completion of work on the installation of new generation emulsifiers on boiler units of all departments with a degree of ash collection of at least 99.4%;

Costs amounted to 1,007.8 million tenge.

2. Modernization of burner devices at 7 of 19 boiler units of departments CHPP-1, 3 in order to comply with the level of nitrogen oxide emissions with the requirements of the Technical Regulations.

Costs amounted to 400.7 million tenge.

Completion of work is planned for 2013 – 2014.

Protection and rational use of water resources and soils:

1. At CHPP-1: carrying out measures to repair pumping equipment in the boiler, turbine, chemical shops, and wastewater treatment plants.

Costs amounted to 11.0 million tenge.

2. At CHPP-2: restoration and repair work of the hydraulic ash removal system, production systems, clarified water storage tanks.

Costs amounted to 112.6 million tenge.

Protection of land resources:

1. At CHPP-1: carrying out work on repairing ash pipes.

Costs amounted to 59.1 million tenge.

2. At CHPP-2: repair and restoration work at the ash dump.

Costs amounted to 2.9 billion tenge.
