The Chairman of the Board of JSC AlES delivered a report on the activities of JSC Almaty Electric Power Plants (AlES) to the audience
Nurlan Mukhamed-Rakhimov.
According to him, in 2013 the company fulfilled investment obligations for 9.2 billion tenge, including 1.6 billion for equipment for the production of thermal energy. The funds were spent on the modernization of burner devices, reconstruction of the water treatment plant, power supply to the central thermal distribution point of the boiler house, gas control point, etc.
The overhaul of the equipment for the production of thermal energy for 1.3 billion tenge was carried out.
Speaking about the main financial and economic indicators of the activity of JSC AlES in 2013, Nurlan Mukhamed-Rakhimov noted that the company suffered losses from the production of thermal energy by 815 million tenge and when supplying water through main pipelines (chemically treated water – 723.6 million tenge). The main reasons for the increase in costs, and actually losses, for the production of thermal energy and the preparation of chemically treated water, according to the head, were the increase in the cost of fuel and its transportation, as well as water supply services.
The report also mentioned a decrease in the consumption of thermal energy by 14 percent and chemically treated water by 25 percent by the heating networks of Almaty.
Work is also continuing with consumers of AlES JSC’s services to repay accounts receivable.
At the end of his speech, Nurlan Mukhamed-Rakhimov spoke about the prospects of the company’s activities. In particular, according to the long-term development strategy of JSC AlES for 2014-2022, capital investments are planned for renovation, reconstruction, modernization and maintenance of the current production level totaling 111.4 billion tenge. As part of the implementation of the investment program for the production of thermal energy 13.1 billion tenge.
It was also noted that tariffs for regulated services do not fully cover the required amount of investment. In this regard, due to a shortage of own funds, it is planned to attract borrowed money and finances from the republican budget for the timely implementation of priority projects in order to reliably, uninterrupted supply of consumers with thermal energy.
At the end of the event, the head of JSC AlES gave comprehensive answers to all the questions that arose during the meeting.
