Kurmash-aga, who knows his business

Being proud of your profession and your work is a rare quality these days. It comes with age, when you reach the heights of mastery, and there is every reason to say: “I am someone who knows my work inside and out. My many years of experience in this area leaves no doubt about my effectiveness for the business.” This is how Kalmyrzaevich Samashov, a mechanic for repairing steam and gas turbine equipment at CREO-2, evaluates his work, its significance for the company and Kurmangazy. And he has every reason to say so – he has been in this profession for 41 years. Skill, responsibility, impeccable reputation, responsiveness – this is how his colleagues, students, management of the Energoremont PRP and CHPP-2 named after him speak about him. A. Zhakutov, and AlES JSC. And today, what everyone knew before, they say out loud as they see off Kurmangazy Kalmyrzaevich to retirement.

– I met Kurmash-aga in 1998, when after college I went to work at the Energoremont PRP. I always remember that time with good emotions,” says Vladimir Reger, head of the turbine equipment repair section at Energoremont PRP. “Working under his strict leadership, I was always filled with pride in the work we had done. Kurmash Agha always led competently, confidently and strictly. The results were always of high quality and on time. He always tried to instill in us, young specialists, such qualities as hard work, responsibility, and discipline. Thanks to the sensitive attitude of the mentor and the creation of a good, friendly atmosphere in the team, I and many of the guys fell in love with our profession. And, despite everything, we are still working in the energy sector. On behalf of myself and the entire team, I thank Kurmash-aga for the enormous work done, for the transferred experience and invaluable knowledge, which will be useful for a long time and which his students will use for the benefit of the enterprise for many years to come.

Kurmangazy Samashov was born on October 23, 1961, in a family where work was valued, and the main authority was the father. As a schoolboy, he dreamed of becoming a surgeon, but it so happened that a friend got him interested in energy. At first he just wanted to try his skills in this profession, but he didn’t even notice how he became seriously interested in it, and it became his life’s work. His mentor, M.A., also played a big role in this. Lukyanov. And also a special atmosphere that is inherent in teams of energy workers: mutual assistance, responsibility, teamwork, responsiveness, professionalism and the desire to improve their skills, readiness to gain new knowledge and come to the rescue at any time. And of course – his gigantic hard work. It is no coincidence that his personal motto is: “Patience and work will grind everything down.”

In the labor history of Kurmash Agha there were many situations when his professionalism, skills, knowledge and extensive practice allowed him to quickly make decisions in the most difficult situations that are inevitable in any production. During his forty-year work history, Kurmangazy Kalmyrzaevich was repeatedly awarded with diplomas from AlES JSC.

As the company’s management notes, Kurmangazy Samashov “during his work in the energy industry, he has established himself as an experienced, proactive, technically competent specialist, capable of effectively applying modern economic management methods with a deep understanding of energy engineering problems. He made a great contribution to the repair of equipment in the turbine shop of the TPP-2 power plant named after. A. Zhakutova. During periods of repair campaigns, Kurmangazy Kalmyrzaevich competently organized the work of the team for repairing turbine equipment, which significantly influenced the trouble-free operation of the station equipment.”

Kurmangazy Samashov did not stop learning throughout his career: he attended trainings and seminars at the National Certification Committee for Welding Production. Therefore, when solving complex problems, Kurmash-aga was always ready to help his colleagues. Including outside of school hours, which is highly valued in the team.

“As a specialist, he can independently make decisions to perform tasks of increased complexity,” the company emphasizes. – Kurmangazy Kalmyrzaevich Samashov is a responsive and sociable person. He trains young specialists and passes on his work experience to them. Extensive experience and constant improvement of acquired knowledge make him a valuable personnel employee.”

Generously sharing your knowledge and experience with young people is in the blood of Kurmangazy Kalmyrzaevich. And this does not look like a lesson or lecture, rather like friendly, fatherly, wise advice. Today he says that he would be happy to recommend that young people choose a profession as an energy engineer. And he himself, if he had the opportunity to start all over again, would have made the same choice and walked the same path. However, it is important for young people to know what personal character traits are needed for the profession, and what knowledge needs to be acquired.

“For people of our profession, such qualities as resistance to stress, patience, ingenuity, the desire for constant self-development, good endurance, physical fitness, balance and the ability to react quickly in various situations will be useful,” says Kurmash-aga. – A professional also needs excellent knowledge of the theoretical foundations of energy and electrical engineering, the ability to develop and implement energy projects. You also need skills in the operation and maintenance of energy equipment, conducting energy audits and optimizing energy consumption, knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety rules in the energy sector. The ability to work with employees and organize their work will not hurt. It is important for them to remember that they bear great responsibility, since energy plays a central role in the life of every person. Population growth and increased well-being of countries and citizens lead to an increase in the production of goods, which increases the need for electricity. I would like to wish the energy workers good health, success at work and good luck.

Concluding his professional career, Kurmash-aga expresses his gratitude to all his colleagues. “My father always told me: always be noble and grateful,” recalls Kurmangazy Samashov. “I will miss my colleagues, because the workforce in our company is the best. We went through a lot with them. We worked together. We rested together. I will remember our Nauryz celebrations. Those were the most wonderful days.”

With the arrival of retirement age, life changes. But, as Kurmangazy Samashov dreamed in his childhood and youth, he always adhered to the principles of humanity, loyalty and friendship, served the people, and now has become an example for young colleagues. He created a strong family, which, at his age and status, becomes his reliable support.

Seeing off Kurmangazy Kalmyrzaevich to his well-deserved retirement, his colleagues and the management of AlES JSC say that they are learning from him the following qualities: tolerance, perseverance, wisdom. “We express our sincere gratitude to you for your culture, for your work and experience. We wish you happiness, family well-being, prosperity on every new day!
