Knowing in theory and seeing everything with your own eyes are two different things

This is the opinion of 25 teachers who visited the Kapshagai hydroelectric power station named after. Sh. Chokin

In August 2023, at the Kapshagai hydroelectric power station named after Sh. Chokin, an excursion was held for physics teachers who develop test tasks for educational projects at the Dostyk educational center and teach in secondary schools.

The excursion was conducted by the chief technologist of the electrical machine shop, Aidar Beisenov, and the chief specialist in technical operation and industrial safety, Botakoz Salmakeeva.

“We saw the hydroelectric station with our own eyes. We were immediately captivated by its power and efficiency. The power of water is converted into electrical energy using four hydro turbines and generators! This is really impressive! It’s interesting that the dam is located at the river’s outlet from the reservoir and the terrain was not touched,” shared Ainur Ikram, a physics teacher.

Nurtileu Turganbai is confident that, based on the information he has seen and received, he will be able to confidently explain to schoolchildren the theoretical part of the material on the transformation of water energy.

– Knowing in theory and seeing everything with your own eyes are two different things. The atmosphere at the station made us want to work there. I express my deep gratitude to our guides, the station workers, they were able to show and explain in detail all the intricacies of the work of the Kapshagai hydroelectric power station,” continued Ainagul Amrenova, a physics teacher.

Observing the operation of a hydroelectric power station was a living experience for methodologist Zamanbek Mukambetkazin. He received a lot of impressions.

The station’s specialists answered numerous questions from teachers and hope that what they saw will help in their work in the future.
