I’m ready to start working at the station …
38 students of the Almaty University of Energy and Communications visited AlES
At the beginning of March 2022, 2nd-4th year students of AUES in the specialties “Heat power engineering”, “Electric power engineering” and “Hydropower engineering” visited CHPP-1 named after B. Orazbayev, CHPP-2 named after A. Zhakutov and Kapshagai hydroelectric power station named after Sh. Chokin. All of them are participants in the Job Trip program of the AUPET Career Center. The guys wrote a motivation letter on the topic “Why do I want to go on an excursion to the station?”
Station workers spoke to the students. The children were given a tour of the main technological workshops, the students were shown the power equipment of the stations, and the mechanism for organizing the main technological processes to ensure uninterrupted heat supply to the city was explained. Here, future power engineers were interested in literally everything. Students were actively interested in the capabilities of the stations and the operating principles of the equipment.
“I visited the station for the first time and learned everything about its work from the workers themselves. I saw how the thermal power plant works. Today I realized that I chose the right path, my profession. This is the specialty in which I want to work. “I’m ready to start working at the station,” said 4th year student Aibek Zhaksybaev.
Akniet Aliaskar, a 2nd year student, is very glad that she had the chance to visit the thermal power plant: “The trip evoked a lot of emotions, it was very interesting and educational. I want to work as an energy engineer. I liked the turbine shop the most. We studied everything theoretically, looked at diagrams and pictures. Today everything was different. I know that my specialty will always be in demand.”
– Students’ excursions to AlPP facilities are a long-standing tradition. They allow you to see thermal power plants and hydroelectric power plants with your own eyes. This makes a great impression on students, they receive a lot of interesting and really useful information. Training of power engineers becomes effective if it is supported by familiarity with real production. The information received helps young people make an informed choice of profession based on their own ideas about it,” emphasized Zhanar Sabikenova, head of the personnel training department of AlES JSC.
Students and teachers expressed gratitude to the AlES staff for the interesting and informative information.
