Foreman of AlES JSC Oleg Pekushchev took silver and bronze at the Asian Bench Press Championship

At the beginning of December 2019, the Asian Classic Powerlifting Championship was held in Almaty, in which athletes from 22 countries took part.

More than 500 athletes competed in powerlifting competitions in three disciplines: squats, bench press and deadlift. Oleg Pekushchev, foreman of the shut-off valve repair section of PRP Energoremont, has already won Asian Championships more than once.

This year he showed the second result among veterans in the age category from 40 to 50 years in the weight category up to 74 kg. Oleg became a bronze medalist in the squat discipline with a result of 185 kg, and a silver medalist in the bench press with a weight of 122.5 kg.

— I have been doing powerlifting for 7 years. At first I competed only in the bench press. Now I plan to continue competing in this sport. I thank my colleagues for their support and for believing in me,” shared Oleg Pekushchev. In May 2020, the Czech Republic will host the next World Championship and, with sponsorship, there is an opportunity to take part in this competition.

— We came to support our Oleg. In 2018, he won the Asian Bench Press Championship in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). Oleg has been working at AlES JSC since 2012. We are proud that champions work with us,” said Fariza Botakaraeva, chairman of the Zharkyn Bolashak youth organization.

JSC “AlES” wishes Oleg new sports victories and achievement of his cherished dream!
