Fifteen peaks conquered by Aidos
The year 2025 was a year of climbs and records for Almaty energy engineer Aidos Masiraliev. The determined and courageous engineer at the Central Steam Turbine Control Panel of CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev, AlES JSC, took up mountaineering relatively recently – a year and a half ago – but during this time, Aidos has climbed 15 peaks of the Zailiyskiy Alatau. And on each of them, he raised the flag of AlES, the company where he not only works but also develops, grows and sets new goals for himself.
Aidos Masiraliev persistently conquers peaks, both professional and personal. In December 2024, based on his performance at the thermal power plant, he was entered into the company’s Energy Workers’ Book of Honour. He also won the annual ‘Uzdik Ondiris Mamany’ (‘Best Production Specialist’) competition held by Samruk-Energo JSC. In the same year, Aidos climbed several peaks as part of the Alpinia competition, including the Panfilov Heroes, Almaty (Komsomol) and Bolshoy Almaty peaks.
“A year and a half ago, I discovered a new chapter in my life – a chapter called mountains”, says Aidos. And these are not just mountains – they are mountains of climbing, overcoming, testing myself. My very first climb was to the peak of Almaty (Komsomol). This is a mountain peak on the northern slope of the Tien Shan range of the Zailiyskiy Alatau. Its height is 4,376 meters above sea level. It is considered one of the most difficult of the four-thousanders. From that unforgettable moment, mountaineering became my main hobby. Therefore, when I learned about the challenge of climbing the 15 peaks of the Zailiyskiy Alatau, I set myself the goal of climbing all of them. They are all different and are divided into three levels in the climbing program: First – ‘Bronze medal. Five popular, easily accessible peaks’; Second one is Silver. Five peaks requiring moderate training and endurance; the third one is a Golden medal. Five difficult peaks for experienced tourists‘. By the will and blessing of the Almighty, over the past year and a half, I have conquered all the peaks in the “My 15 Alatau Peaks” program. Each of them was special to me, and I raised the AlES flag on each of them. But in addition to this challenge list, I also climbed other peaks in the Almaty mountains.

Aidos Masiraliev calculated that he has climbed a total of 22 peaks. In addition to the four thousand-metre peaks already mentioned, Qanysh Satbayev, Malysh, Kosmonavt and Vodolaz, located in the Kumbel spur, on the rocky bridge between Molodezhny Peak and Titov Peak.
In the same year, taking on a new challenge, he participated in the Race Nation Shymbulak obstacle course. The distance was 2 km, and for the Elite category, in which Aidos participated, there were up to 17 obstacles. Aidos also took part in the “En myqty” (‘The Strongest’) project on the Jibek Joly TV channel. His colleagues hoped and believed that Aidos would be the winner. Knowing Aidos’ character and energy, they couldn’t see anyone else winning! And that’s exactly what happened: Aidos won the ‘En myqty’ project, receiving the main prize – an apartment in Astana.
But for Aidos, previous successes and achievements are just steps towards new ones. “There are still many peaks in the world to conquer,” says Aidos Masiraliyev with a smile, but he is not joking. ‘And for me, these are not just goals, not just new climbs – they are an opportunity to be an example for my children, friends, acquaintances and colleagues. And it is not so much my achievements that are an example, but rather the belief that if you set a goal and go for it, no obstacles or circumstances can stand in your way!’
