Gaziy Zhumabaevich Ismukhambetov, Managing Director for Production – Chief Engineer of Almaty Electric Power Plants JSC, belongs to a special category of managers with whom it is comfortable to work
Gaziy Zhumabaevich was born on July 20, 1960 in the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation.
— My parents were scientists involved in agriculture. A good friend of his father, Sagyndyk Aizharikovich Ormantaev, worked at that time as deputy head of the electrical department of CHPP-1. He told me a lot about his work. And one day he gave a tour of the station.
This made an indelible impression on me. “I firmly decided to become an energy engineer,” said Gaziy Zhumabaevich. In 1982 he graduated from the Alma-Ata Energy Institute with a degree in electrical engineering. After graduation, Gaziy Zhumabaevich remained to work there as an engineer at the Department of High Voltage Engineering. He is a co-author of two copyright certificates on three-phase controlled reactors.
Gaziy Zhumabaevich’s career at Almaty CHPP-2 began in 1986. Here he climbed the career ladder from electrician on duty to station shift supervisor. He proved himself to be a committed, principled, purposeful employee who constantly improves his professional knowledge and skills. From 2002 to 2007, Gaziy Zhumabaevich worked in the central dispatch service of APK JSC. Worked his way up from a dispatcher to her boss. Then he worked as Deputy Chief Engineer of AlES JSC for five years, and from 2012 to 2013 as Chief Engineer. Under the direct leadership of Gaziy Zhumabaevich, the boiler room of CHPP-2 was put into operation. The effectiveness of this construction was determined by the additional heat supply during the heating season in Almaty up to 420 thousand Gcal, this made it possible to ensure additional connection of thermal energy consumers in Almaty.
Since 2013, for six years, Gaziy Zhumabaevich worked as Deputy Chairman of the Board for Production – Chief Engineer, and is currently Managing Director for Production – Chief Engineer of AlES JSC. During this period of work, he participated in the commissioning of boiler unit No. 8 at CHPP-2, with a capacity of 420 tons of steam per hour. With his direct participation, a heat supply scheme for the city of Almaty was implemented in the area of activity of AlES JSC, including for the socially significant object “Reconstruction of thermal outlets of CHPP-2 for heat supply to the Universiade 2017 facilities in the Alatau district of Almaty.” Under his leadership, the most important measures for reducing the environmental load are discussed and developed both for AlES JSC and for the residents of Almaty. In particular, since 2017. The combustion of coal at the Almaty CHPP-1 was stopped and a complete transition to the combustion of natural gas was carried out.
Gaziy Zhumabaevich is a striking example of a man of action, who is at the forefront of the production of electrical and thermal energy, constantly solving a lot of complex and multifaceted problems and issues, generating ideas and invariably achieving the real implementation of these projects and ideas. Gaziy Zhumabaevich belongs to a special category of managers with whom it is comfortable to work. His authority is built on professionalism, the ability to solve complex problems, and, of course, love for his work. Gaziy Zhumabaevich has extensive production experience, which allows him to make informed decisions. He is always open to dialogue. His high professionalism and ability to make effective management decisions have earned him well-deserved authority in the electric power industry. – Energy is for responsible, disciplined people. Despite his busy schedule, Gaziy Zhumabaevich finds time for his favorite activities. He leads a sporty lifestyle. During his school and student years he was involved in boxing and athletics. Currently involved in triathlon, takes part in running, swimming and cycling competitions, and has won prizes in his age category. A healthy lifestyle is one of his family’s mottos.
Gaziy Zhumabaevich has two main goals. The first is the successful development of AlES JSC and the second is to cross the Bosphorus Strait. Colleagues and his family are confident that he will implement them.
