Educational experience for schoolchildren
April 21, 2023 at the Kapshagai hydroelectric station named after. Sh. Chokin conducted an excursion for 5th grade students of secondary school No. 5 named after. A. Zhubanova.
– As part of the educational plan, on April 18, a class hour was held dedicated to the monuments and historical places of our city. For a detailed study and deepening into the history of the city of Konaev, an excursion to the city-forming enterprise was organized. I, as a class teacher, wanted to show the children where the history of our city began. Thanks to the support and permission of the AlPP management, we were able to visit the Kapshagai hydroelectric power station. The children also paid tribute to the memory of the first builders of the station and laid flowers at the memorial on the territory of the hydroelectric power station,” shared Makpal Aitbek, class teacher of grade 5 “D”.
18 students visited the station. Before starting the excursion, the children were told how to observe safety precautions at the station. The schoolchildren were accompanied by Botagoz Salmakeeva, chief specialist in technical operation and industrial safety, and Kanat Cheryazdanov, foreman in operation and repair of hydraulic structures.
“We told the children about the history of the station, the structure of hydroelectric power stations, and showed the buildings, hydraulic structures and water area of the station. It was clear that the guys were interested, they asked a lot of questions. I think the children were satisfied and received a lot of educational information,” continued Kanat Cheryazdanov.
Sevara Rakhimzhanova saw the work of a hydroelectric power station for the first time.
– They explained to us how aggregators work, how energy appears, where water flows from. There are many workshops at the station, but we only went into the safest one. There was a crane that lifted loads for the aggregator. The hydroelectric power station has a brain, there is even a button to turn off the entire station. You ask: “Why is she? After all, the station cannot be turned off even for a second, it works 24/7.” This button is needed in case of an accident. It has never been used in all these years! We also got acquainted with the honor board, where we were told about the first builders and veterans of the station. We laid flowers at the memorial, which is located on the territory of the station,” Sevara, a student of grade 5 “D,” shared her impressions.
The station tour was a fun and educational experience for the schoolchildren.
