Educational expedition to JSC “AlES”

20 students, undergraduates and researchers visited the company’s production departments
At the end of August 2023, excursions for researchers from Central Asia were held at AlES JSC. The informative expedition was organized as part of the Educational trip “Renewable Energy 2023” with the assistance of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany and the Renewable Energy Association “Qazaq Green”. The participants visited the Kapshagai hydroelectric power station named after Sh. Chokin and CHPP-2 named after A. Zhakutov.

One of the main impressions from the trip was the high productivity of the excursions and the friendliness of the employees of AlES JSC. Kumisai Tlepova, an ecologist from the Distribution Center for Selection LLP, shared her opinion: “I really liked the tour of the AlPP facilities. The company’s competent, attentive employees explained in an interesting and thorough manner how its production facilities operate.”

Ilya Piunovsky, a student at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Kazakh-German University, noted the high level of safety and general qualifications of all company employees:

– The excursion was interesting and productive; we were shown the main production workshops of the stations. They told us everything from the history of the station’s construction to the work schedule. Conducted high-quality safety briefings and answered all existing questions.

Unisongroup engineer Aidar Kanatbekov noted that such events not only broaden one’s horizons, but also allow one to better understand how important and complex the work of power engineers is.

The excursions were conducted by Abzal Zhakypbaev, deputy chief engineer for operation of CHPP-2, and Pavel Kim, head of the production and technical department of the Kapshagai HPP. The event participants expressed their deep gratitude for the fascinating and informative tour of the production departments of AlES JSC.

– We gained new knowledge about the processes of electricity production. For us, this is a unique opportunity to see and get acquainted with the process of producing electrical energy,” said Aigul Kokemanovna, teacher at KVPTK.

The educational expedition is a definite step in the popularization of renewable energy. AlES employees hope that the knowledge gained by the excursionists will be used in further research work in the field of renewable energy.
