Chairman of Trade Unions Federation of RK S.Dauletalin visited CHPP-2 named after A.Zhakutov: emphasising the environmental protection and prestige of working professions

Chairman of Trade Union Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Dauletalin has visited CHPP-2 named after A.Zhakutov on February 24, 2025. This visit was aimed at learning about the progress of the construction project of the new gas station and meeting with the workforce.

The delegation toured the site where construction works are being carried out, and also got acquainted with the presentation on the investment project “Modernization of Almaty CHPP-2 with minimization of environmental impact”. There were presented technologies that will allow minimising emissions and increasing the power efficiency of the plant. The management of the enterprise emphasized that the transition to modern standards is in line with global trends of sustainable development.

Meeting with the workforce has become an important part of the visit. Satybaldy Dauletalin discussed working conditions, social guarantees and prospects for the development of human resources. He paid a special attention to the activities of trade union organization, production council and youth organization “Zharkyn Bolashak”. The Chairman noted their role in protecting the rights of workers and involving young specialists in the solution of production challenges.

– The year 2025 has been declared as the Year of Working Professions. Today it is more important as never before to raise the prestige of the work of engineers, power engineers, construction workers – those who create the basis of the economy, – said Satybaldy Dauletalin. He underlined that qualified personnel is a key link in the implementation of large-scale projects, such as the modernization of CHPP-2, and encouraged to develop programs of occupational education and mentoring more actively.

During the meeting Askar Konarbayev, turner of the HPP Cascade, and Sergey Avramenko, master of turbine equipment repair of the Shop for repair of power equipment at CHPP-2 of PRP ‘Energoremont’, were awarded the medals “Yenbek ozaty”.

At the end of the visit, they discussed plans for further co-operation between the trade union and the enterprise, including the support of employee initiatives and the introduction of ‘green’ technologies into production processes.
