Bagizat UMERBAYEVA: willpower and skill
Mother of five kids, power engineering professional and healthy lifestyle promoter
Bagizat Umerbaeva, a native of the picturesque Kyzylorda region, has dreamed of various things since childhood: the strict order of storerooms, or the white coats of doctors. But fate, like a wise mentor, led her to the world of power engineering, where her persistence and talent lit new stars. Today, after 12 years of work as a toolmaker of the 4th category at CHPP-1 named after B.Orazbayev in “Energoremont”, she creates the work poetry.
“There are three stages in every profession: adaptation, self-realization and proficiency”, Bagizat says. Her path started with the basics, but her passion for the job turned the routine into creativity. Every day is a step towards perfection. “If you work sincerely from your heart, even metal can come to life”, she smiles. The requirements in the industry have grown over the years, but for Bagizat, it was a challenge she proudly embraced.
In 2018, her name appeared on the “Board of Honor” – a symbol of respect from her colleagues. And in 2023, she received an award for her contribution to sport and a healthy lifestyle. No coincidence: Bagizat is a key player in the volleyball team of PRP Energoremont, proving that strength of mind and body go hand in hand. She plays on the 45+ volleyball team representing the Karasai district of Almaty. ‘Sport teaches us not to give up – both in life and at work,’ she said.
But her energy knows no bounds: in 2024, Bagizat represented the AlES JSC at the First Women in Power Forum of Samruk-Energy JSC Group of Companies in Astana. Communicating with colleagues, she shared her experience of combining career, motherhood and social activities: “Women in the power industry are not just employees. We are those who charge the industry with warmth, stability and faith in the future”.
Active participation in the company’s women’s club has become another mission for Bagizat. She helps her colleagues find a balance between career and personal life. “When women support each other, there will be a force that can change entire industries”, she believes.
A mother of five children, Bagizat masters balancing home and the shop floor. Do you want to know her secret? “You can help yourself, you can do anything”, is the life credo she passes on to her children and colleagues. Bagizat’s two sons followed in their mother’s footsteps in the power industry and also play volleyball.
At AlES JSC she found not just a job, but a second family: “Labor is highly valued here, and people grow together”. Bagizat does not stop at personal achievements. She actively encourages women to live a healthy life, confident that the energy of one can ignite thousands. “Our health is the basis of the future. And the future starts with ourselves”, she says. Her guiding principle: “Don’t be afraid to take responsibility. Even in a “masculine” profession, you can remain who you are – sensitive, wise, and irreplaceable”.
Her childhood dreams of pantry and medicine have not disappeared – they have been transformed. Today, Baghizat stores the energy of an entire region, and her care for her colleagues resembles a doctor’s gift. “Life is wiser than our plans. The main thing is to go forward with an open heart”, she concludes.
Bagizat Umerbaeva’s story is a true poem to perseverance, motherly love and her faith in herself. She has proved: skill knows no boundaries, and true success is born where labor meets passion.
