AlES: the heating season has successfully completed
JSC “Almaty Electric Stations” is the main energy source of Almaty and the Almaty region. This is a holding within a holding, which includes three thermal power plants, two hydroelectric power plants, the Western Thermal Complex, Energoremont PRP and TsPVT. The company provides electricity and heat to about 70% of consumers in the Almaty region.
Despite the rather difficult and cold past heating season, thermal energy was supplied in full in accordance with consumer requests. About 20 boiler units and 13 steam turbines were in operation.
“In general, the heating season was successful, as evidenced by the uninterrupted supply of heat and electricity to consumers in Almaty and the Almaty region,” noted Erlan Kirkinbaev, Chairman of the Board of AlES JSC. – During this period, 2.9 billion kWh of electrical energy and about 4.7 million Gcal of thermal energy were generated.
In December 2022, after the events in Ekibastuz and Pavlodar, company employees participated in a technical inspection of power plants in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
– As part of the commission for checking energy sources in the Karaganda region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, we checked the readiness to bear loads during the heating period 2022-2023. at Karaganda CHPP-1, CHPP-3, Karaganda CHPP-1, Karaganda CHPP-2 in Temirtau, Balkhash CHPP in Balkhash, noted Ivan Simonov, chief specialist of the Operations Service.

The heating season 2022-2023 ended on April 20, 2023 in accordance with resolutions No. 2/250 of the Almaty Akimat and No. 29-ө n/k dated 04/06/2023. and the akimat of the Ili district of the Almaty region, the duration of the season was 189 days. The heat supply stops due to the onset of stable warm weather.
JSC “AlES” began a repair campaign on the main and auxiliary equipment of energy sources in March.
Reference: every year the heating season starts when the average daily outside air temperature is below +8 degrees Celsius for five days in a row, if the heat is supplied through a centralized system. The heating season ends when the average daily outside air temperature remains above this mark for five days. The duration of the heating season is approved by the akimat of Almaty and the akimat of the Ili district of the Almaty region.
