A press tour for journalists was held at AlES JSC
On November 29, 2013, Samruk-Energy JSC conducted a press tour of the facilities of the Almaty energy complex.
One of the objects visited by journalists was the heat collection point at CHPP-1. The Department of CHPP-1 of AlES JSC is a large urban heat source, located almost in the city center and has been operating for almost 80 years.

The aging of equipment and wear and tear of fixed assets of CHPP-1 create objective grounds for possible negative changes in the energy supply system of Almaty. In the coming years, the main equipment
CHPP-1 is working out its park resource. Three types of fuel are used at CHPP-1: coal, gas, fuel oil.
Journalists from the newspapers “Kazakhstanskaya Pravda”, “Megapolis”, “Aikyn”, “Liter”, the magazine “Expert Kazakhstan”, television and radio companies “Khabar”, “Astana”, “Almaty” and “STV” not only saw with their own eyes the peculiarities of the work of power engineers, but we also learned that the reconstruction of CHPP-1 to receive heat from CHPP-2 is associated with the need to increase the efficiency of the energy complex of AlES JSC, the reliability and quality of heat supply to consumers while simultaneously reducing the environmental load in the central part of Almaty by reducing the load of the CHPP- 1.

Answering questions from media correspondents, Chairman of the Board of AlES JSC Nurlan Mukhamed-Rakhimov noted that the reconstruction of CHPP-1 to receive heat from CHPP-2 allows heat to be transferred to CHPP-1 from CHPP-2 via the heating main CHPP-1-CHP- 2 to 350 Gcal/hour, stop CHPP-1 in the summer, which will make it possible to carry out large-scale reconstruction and replacement of main equipment, as well as reduce the environmental load from CHPP-1.

In addition, it is planned to change the ratio of fuel burned at CHPP-1 and CHPP-2 with an increase in the share of cheap Ekibastuz coal and a decrease in the share of expensive gas-oil fuel, to increase the efficiency of the electricity and heat production system, and also to increase the reliability of heat supply to the centralized heat supply zone of AlTS JSC .
